New alternative for Solo Blaster

How about some pictures? I'm still on the fence about this. I love airsoft, but electronics are great too. I've considered the 3D printed version by Master Blaster.

Khazara posted a nice pic and a link to a lot more, just a few posts up. (#215)

There are lots of pictures of the piece throughout the thread. Here's the rundown of all stages of weathering mine http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=265343&page=6&p=4121768&viewfull=1#post4121768, and when it was brand-new. http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=265343&page=2&p=4090005&viewfull=1#post4090005

Mine shows as shipped (from China). No idea how long it'll take to get here.

So in the meantime, I ordered wood grips, the TomTit Cylinder kit for the grill to hopefully replace the inaccurate one it comes with,
and then of course I'll need a belt rig with holster so I ordered one of those...and the greeblies for the tool pouches. The idea is to try and come up with some kind of display with the holstered blaster instead of on a stand.
kind of like this but star warsy

You're going to cover half of that gorgeous blaster with a holster? :(

(a cool holster, to be sure, but still!)

Here's mine. I ended up sandblasting, or rather glassblasting it at low pressure, followed by a sanding with fine grade paper and finishing Witt very fine steel wool. Then several layers of aluminum black with light steel wool between layers. And a little paint on the flash hider.
I still need to do something with the grips, wood replacements, but for now I'm kinda happy.

I just got mine in too. I have to say, even though it's not 100%, for the low price, the weight and feel of it, I'm extremely happy with it. I've never owned a blaster so this is really great for a first one.
I did what Laochri did and just took some steel wool to it as a first pass. I'm sure I'll eventually want to strip it and do it the right way but for now I'm totally happy with it.

Replaced the grips with real wooden ones today. Took about 15 min of filing down the internal border to make it fit the frame. Looks much better already.

Do you plan on removing the selector switch?
I planed on utilizing it as a fire/stun selector switch for a Blaster Core, but it won't work. I may think about removing it and welding over the holes. Doing so may give me a bit more room for the trigger switch. As I've said, I'm building "My" DL 44. So anything goes.

Where did you find the replacement grips at?

http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/598110.htm

it's the top one. 598110 if you want the version closest to ANH.
If you want TFA replacements get part number 598130
They won't fit out of the box. You'll have to line them up and trace the inside of the frame on each half. then use a dremel to cut and grind it down to fit.
