Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is HFC (and now also a Maurshin) m712 airsoft pistol

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is not a c96

Lots of productions use airsoft guns now. Its not that uncommon. I'm sure insurance and financial concerns play into it a lot.

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is not a c96

*edit*

IIRC the only difference between the C96 and M712 is that the C96 was top fed and M712 uses a magazine. There are only dummy guns for C96, never seen a functioning airsoft since airsoft players primarily want magazine based guns

The M712 also has a selector switch on one side and a magazine release button on the other.

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is not a c96

Do any of the gas airsofts come with the short magazine? I've seen springers with them... If so, and if anyone has one of the gas airsofts, would you mind posting a photo of the bottom of the pistol and shorter magazine? Maybe we can ID which brand they used.

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is not a c96

I've looked at videos of the KWC, the HFC and the Marushin ... from what I've seen, the only one that has a round hole at the bottom of the mag like in the new Han poster is the Marushin ... but it seems to be a much smaller hole. Perhaps this is just an effect of the angle at which Hans holding the blaster?

I take it back ... looks like the HFC has a round fill hole in the base of the mag as well. I'm not finding any airsoft versions that have the full combination of the short mag, with a round hole, and that notch on the right side of the base of the mag that you can see in the official TFA poster, here:

That notch can also be seen in the new Han Poster here:

Anyone have further insight into this? I'm not an airsoft guy and I only really know details about the C96 ...

***EDIT

I found this ... seems to match up. Could it be an HFC M712?

Looks like it could also be a "Bell"

I've been reading up ... it seems the Bell is pretty much a copy of the HFC, and I have yet to come across many places selling them, even out of stock. My money is on it being an HFC base, as they seem pretty readily available ... seems the short mags for them are pretty scarce though.

Re: Han Solo Force Awakens Blaster is not a c96

Yeah, I think they would have used the HFC too, the details on the KWC seem softer and where there should be screws there are weird circle panels. I would imagine that the props would have some internal modification for simulating live fire, like an led light. Also the HFC is touted as the most accurate compared to a real gun.

Found a review of the gun with the short mag.

Excellent.

Thanks.

With the short mag that sure seems like the one.

The same reason that they always have? Timing the blast live with the laser effect that gets added. Also gives you real discharge smoke etc. It just feels more real....which seems to be something JJ is all about.

You don't need discharge smoke with a laser bolt, though.... just sayin'.
