yes there is change between early 20's and mid twenties. the bones in her face and body were obviously still growing.
criticism is fine but it's gone beyond that. it's getting like there's multiple neil t's repeating the same old crap over and over....
i made a simple comment concerning kubrick no need to over do it. it's just a movie. if i don't like it, i just move on. it's not a big deal to me is all i was saying. good day.

btw people in their early twenties are still just teenagers in my opinion. like starting junior college is just 13th grade....
she's 2 years older and it shows. no big deal.
it's not the lens choice.

The NeilT comparison is apt, and something I've been thinking about for a while now.

I noticed that also @halliwax. I attributed it to her having to "bulk up" a bit for the fighting scenes in TLJ.
I also noticed this which is kind of funny for continuity since the film takes place directly after TFA where she's noticeably slimmer. Reminds me of Casino Royale where Daniel Craig was famously bulked up but in Quantum of Solace which takes place directly after Casino Royale he's now slimmed down, grown his hair a bit longer, and his suit changed tailors.

There is no significant change in skull size between a teenager post-wisdom teeth and someone in their early adulthood.

My source is actual medical scientific studies. What is your source?

Complaints about TLJ are not going to stop anytime soon. Especially now that it's just released on disc and subject to further analysis.

I merely cited some website reviews of ESB vs Kubrick's work. No need to try and pretend I'm over-exaggerating my response.

What you consider a teenager is irrelevant. What is showing is likely a camera or formatting related issue or some form of exercise/weight training. In any case, it is not skull growth. I have scientifically established that.
yeah i forgot people on the internet argue like it's debate class.
the comment on her skull was not a literal one. it was general bs banter not scientific on my part.
i don't need to pretend about over-reactions....
i'm not going to write a term paper about it.
she's two years older and it's plain as day.
now if you'll excuse me, i've got to go do the laundry and clean the kitchen floor....

Sock puppets usually show themselves by exhibiting the same behavior with similar writing styles over time. I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t using another name. People like that usually try to come back and hold their tongue as to not attract attention, but that is not their nature and they can’t help but spout off. :lol

I would imagine if you asked any creative person how they would want their art received they would say something very similar. Art should be challenging.

Generally, that is true but not when you're trying to appeal to the largest possible audience and within a well established universe.

An unmade bed, a shark in formaldehyde, a canvas smeared with s##t not a Star Wars movie.

Re-open the Ghostbusters thread, that'll flush him out in no time!!

Debate is a good thing. It allows both sides to present their case in a rational manner.

Let me get this straight. When you said in post #4016.......
the bones in her face and body were obviously still growing.

That's not literal? Okay, then what is that if not a literal statement. Because it looks more like you're backpedaling now that I've backed up my claims with an actual scientific study.

I don't need my statements taken out of context and made to look exaggerated as you pretended.

What is plain as day?

I don't really need to know about your chores. You can take all the time you want responding, if you do indeed choose to respond.

Well, I’m using my real name, but...

mabe if if multiple people tell you the same thing, the problem is you?

but a big part of growing up is learning that not everyabout he likes the same things as you. It’s hard, but I think you’ll be better people for learning it.

this movie just isn’t that good. It’s hard, I know, but there it is.

also, not that you noticed, but, most of the detractors in the last few days are different people. The ones who are posting every day are the same five defenders of this travesty. At least two of which are ones who ALWAYS seem to be part of it when a thread stops being about the movie and becomes about attacking other RPF posters. Not sure why they are still even around, I can speculate about friendships, but facts are facts. If you’re going to talk about ****posters, there are a couple names that actually do show up every single time a fight breaks out and...oh look...here they are in this thread. Attacking anyone who, once again, doesn’t love one of the chosen films.

The Last Jedi is not so much challenging as it is challenged.

If he wanted to make art house movies and break molds and rules then he should have stuck to making avante garde films. There is an inherent structure built into Star Wars and if it's violated too much then it becomes something else entirely.

It's not even that he made choices that were contrary in order to serve the story, he made creative choices that make no logical sense and satisfied his own interests rather than tell a story that fit within the series as it had been established by the previous movies. I find it misguided that the critics called it "bold" and praised him for taking risks when it reality he made his own space movie and just slapped the Star Wars logo on it.

It's the equivalent of a teacher assigning a student a project and giving him or her a set of parameters that they must follow in order to pass. Within those confines the student can use their talents to make the project their own and perhaps even get us to look at things in a new way. In this case the student threw out the rules and made his own parameters therefore they didn't fit within the context of the other films and outright violated them insisting that the audience had been thinking about it all wrong. His vision was the way we should have been thinking about Star Wars rather than letting the previous seven films dictate what we should expect to see. It's arrogant and quite frankly insulting.

Thor Ragnarok was a great example of using the ideas established in the previous films and the director putting his own spin on it within the context of the other Thor films. He didn't have to contradict or violate the characters or plots of the first two films to tell his story and he didn't need to break any rules to do it either.

The Last Jedi is to bad Star Wars movies what Primer is to time travel movies. It takes considerable time and multiple viewings to really grasp the depth of it. This thread shows that some of us arrived at this conclusion earlier than others, and just like helping fellow Colonial Marines waking up from hypersleep, we are still here discussing TLJ.

......and another thing,
I thought the colour grading of TLJ was really off for a Star Wars film.
I feel the colour should be consistent in the series and not follow any colour grading current trends. TFA actually got the colour right whilst TLJ felt contemporary rather than the CinemaScope rich palette western feel that other films have used.

I could write at great length about the TLJ's cinematography and how it's faddy style has comprised Star Wars's timeless visual aesthetic. But I won't bore me or you with it ;)

I use to think this also. Then I realized I just like Adam Driver's acting more than I like Kylo Ren as a character.

Well Driver is good and I could stand to see him in something else but-still like Kylo, his line at the end with Rey about letting it all go the resistance,Luke, the jedi, the sith basically a galactic reset is close to my thinking so I DO like the character.

I kinda hope he'll make it out of the next one alive.
