stormtrooper Armor to join 501st.

I’ve decided to finally take the plunge and get myself a full set of storm trooper armor and join my local 501st.
I’ve been scouring the Google search and came across a few different sites were I’m going to buy the armor, but I am avoiding Anovos because it costs way too much.
So I come to you RPF to implore you to tell me who has purchased from some of the sites... I don’t wanna put anything together I just want open the box, put on the boots and helmet, bodysuit and get out..
thanks

You need to explain how that should work out - to expensive in combination with no own work?

Whoever does the work to assemble the parts, surely wants to get paid for the many hours.

I've never heard of any straight out of the box ready to wear armor ever. The way I understand it is that you have to trim it to fit you or else it won't be wearable and look right.

Speak to sskunky, CFO cast from originals on FB I’m sure he might be able to help you out, he does fantastic work

Just get a kit and inquire with your local garrison about their next "armor party". You'll get lots of experienced help putting it together and sizing it to fit you and you'll meet your new family.

I am a 501st approved member. I can fully recommend RS Propmasters. I built mine (image below) from their kit but they do do commissions.
Beware though, the finish on the helmet is slightly bumpy and not pristine smooth. Many of the parts are not symmetrical but when it is all together it looks fantastic.!

I love my kit (all bumps and wonkyness) as i know it is based on an actual screen used prop.

Not sure why the back half of their helmet comes in 2 pieces.

although the $700 is for 2 kits. Not bad deal at all at $350 a kit!
Thats what I was thinking, it sound like a good deal,I wonder why other people have said it's not good. The reason the helmet comes in multiple pieces is probably because it's easier to manufacture.

because there is a whole story about that seller. everything is explained on white armor. com. he is supose to be recaster. then he says he remade the molds and so on but he kind of lost people trust. I'm not a specialist so dn't take my work for it, but you can make your own opinion by searching for it online. The fact he is selling two for the price of one is kind of an alarming thing for me, but then I'm someone who just buy expensive organic food and everything made locally and so on so I might be crazy...

From what I have read on the FISD there are suspicions of recasting.

Now I’m no expert on the Stormtrooper, but I am a approved Scout Trooper with the Legion. From pictures I have seen the pulls look pretty soft and the armor is not very accurate. It’s probably approvable with some work, but There are many other reputable vendors out there so why bother with one that has a bad rumour? Check out FISD armor recommendations thread and take it from there.

Can also check out ross who runs rwa creations on fb . Very friendly . Very helpfull
Had no problems getting my kit cleared with the ukg / 501st
He also has now started doing larger shoulder bells. Kidney . Back . Chest and ab sections
For longer legs he does extended shins too

Suplies all the soft parts apart from the boots ( mine were from rs props but they supply from imperial boots )

Left. Left. Me. Middle . Me

1.5mm abs
2mm abs
2mm capped which is mine

What does an Anovos unfinished kit go for these days anyway? I bought one a long time ago and it's just sitting in the box. I have no plans on ever putting it together.

Well, there are many prop makers worldwide and therefore of many costs and qualities, but it depends a lot on your taste and what you want to invest, lately I came across many people who use the 501st legion as a certification that their work is the best and then it is not like that.
I am now GML of my Garrison and I have to verify the CRL's to be able to register a costumes and sometimes they lack some details and that makes it necessary to continue working on the modifications.
