Homemade Star Trek Video

My Homemade Star Wars video is closing in on 8,000 hits. I decided to do a Star Trek video this time. Just like the last one, this one uses the same camera and wobbly cart for motion control. The star of this one is my Master Replicas Enterprise. Like I wrote on the Trek Prop Zone, for as long as I've had an MR Enterprise I've always wanted to see it fly. Now, thanks to After Effects, she can...

Thanks! I tried to come up with a few shots that haven't been seen before. That Mars shot you mentioned was actually inspired by the scene in STTMP where you see a tiny Enterprise flying 500 meters above V'ger.

Hey Ringa, If you mean the coming out of the time tunnel bit then this is what I did. I used a ring effect from Particle Illusion, and a lens flare (yeah I know ;) then I created a moving mask around the ship so it looked like it was coming through a layer (inspired by Kelsey Grammers ship coming through the time rift in TNG's Cause and Effect) I then illuminated the edges of the moving mask and added a zoom blur to it. The way I made the ship move towards and away from the camera was hilarious. I just tilted the tripod towards and away from the ship :)

If you are referring to the "time tunnel" effect, I just lifted it from Doctor Who.

Hope this helps
