I like everything but the grips on your new one. The grips look great on your other customs, but these just don't look right, to me.First saber of the new year!
This is another Minicam conversion, this time using a series of hard drive motors to build out the emitter. This flash was missing parts wehn I got it so the activator box -- a stripped and polished Heliand 2-cell bracket -- is screwed directly into one of the exposed holes with an M5 machine screw. The bulb release was replaced with a bicycle valve adapter topped by a clear glass cabachon. The flash button was removed and replaced with the knob cut off the side of the bracket. Grips are from Todd's Costumes with a TCSS d-ring riveted to the side of the flash body and a strip of lure tape wrapped above the end cap.

This one feels a bit @SethS to me.

The Minicam is probably my favorite current flash to work with. This is my third conversion, and I picked up a fourth as yet untouched.

Two in one week!
I finally got my hands on a Peak flash/ After years of coveting what @Scott D has done with his, I was reticent to go too crazy. The Peak is definitely subtle. After I added the shinier clamp, I decided the two-toned metal look was the way to go. No grips, but I think it looks good without them.

My latest project was to build a custom MHS saber with a fully removable working chassis.
A Nano Biscotte v3, Li-Ion 18650, 2.1mm recharge, 20mm bass speaker, dual crystal reveal core.
I'm calling this one REVELATION.

I like the emitter, other than that, it really just feels like a flash gun with a clamp on it.Two in one week!

This thread has been ignored too long!
I finally got my hands on a DeMornay Bidd. In trying to figure out what to do with it, I decided to steal a PCB card from a DMB clamp on another saber... and in turn decided I didn't like said saber.
I posted this several months back:

And I decided I REALLY don't like those metal grips. I did that on a bunch of sabers and without a drill press it's just impossible to get them drilled and aligned properly. I drilled out the rivets and took them off, and the holes made it even more clear how off everything was UGH.
Stole the card as planned, and then covered the holes with t-track. MUCH happier with this one now.
