  • I just saw your thread on sand casting saber blanks... and while you've got some great results I have got to ask why do you think they cast in aluminium? wouldn't have been so much easier (for the production crew) to program it in a CNC lathe? Not trying to rain on your parade... just trying to understand why you think it went this way...

    Because there is in existence the original wood master used to create the raw casts and surviving raw casts made from it. Also people alive today who worked on the film who have said so, as well.

    Intersted, new to the forums here What does DEC stand for? Is it some kind of Resin or plastic. I am looking to replace my Master Replicas ANH blaster that I sold a few years ago but cannot see myself spending high $$ like they are going for. Do not need the stand or licensed product. Just looking for a good solid heavy blaster that is as accurate as possible. Is it all metal and Wood? Thanks
