Zombieland!

YES! "For whom the bell tolls" was a perfect opening choice... I'm a huge metallica fan, so it set the stage brilliantly.

I too thought the lead kid actor was very similar to Michael Cera... I kept doind double takes on him, to make sure it wasn't actually "Michael Cera" more grown up.

Still outstanding!!

When they are in the Grocery store, and Tallahasee kills the zombies with the Banjo, halfway through that sequence his banjo disappears and is replaced with a pole with a tube of metal on the end. Where did that come from and what the hell was it...?

I think that was a bat with a batting-practice weight on it, though I could be wrong.

I couldn't figure out why he used weapons once or twice and dumped them. Conserving gas by reducing weight in the car? Screw that. I'd have the back loaded with fifteen friggin crowbars!

I wish I could say I liked Zombieland more. It was just alright. I never once felt there was any suspense moments for any of the main characters. The cameo took me out of the film a bit, especially since I immediately felt I knew the inevitable outcome.

Just for fun, here are my ten better zombie comedies.

9-10. Army of Darkness and Evil Dead II - Do Deadites count? If so, they should score closer to the top. If not, I'll list the following as alternates: Bio-Zombie and Samurai Zombie.
8. Night of the Living Dorks
7. Wild Zero
6. Fido
5. Re-Animator
4. Shaun of the Dead
3. Night of the Creeps (On disc Tuesday!)
2. Peter Jackson's Braindead a.k.a. Dead Alive
1. Return of the Living Dead

Fido was great for what it was -- it's for a very specific kind of viewer, if that makes any sense. It gets my vote.

I really enjoyed this movie - and to the director, who put Emma Stone in a pencil skirt and a convertible 6, I say: thank you.

Fido was awesome. Seeing Trinity as a Pleasantville style mom was a treat. I wouldn't say it was a "comedy"... well, okay, I guess Fido was a comedy.

I despised Dead Alive. Anyone who wants my DVD copy is welcome to it for the cost of shipping.

I won't lie, I knew the movie was coming out, I caught it last week....And up until visiting this thread I thought that was Michael Cera. :lol :lol :lol

I figured it had to do with the blood/virus on the items. I just got back from this and loved it. I laughed a lot which is something I haven't done in a theater in a while.

Great movie - I sneaked my lad into the movie as it as a 15 over here. We enjoyed it more as have recently been playing Left 4 Dead

I'd put it 2nd behind Shaun of the Dead in the "Zomedy" stakes but thats not a bad thing

I really hope they do a sequel

From my understanding, they have enough material for 12 movies. It was originally a TV pitch that ended up going to the movies, instead. They had a whole season's worth of ideas written and it was stated that this was just the first 2 episodes. I figure a sequel is a given with how well it's done. Here's hoping that it stays true and doesn't get messed with too much because of it's success.

I just saw it a second time on Saturday night, and it hold ups just as well. I laughed just as much this secon time around.

Saw it this past weekend... Loved it!!! I thought it was very funny! Having the rules pop up through out the movie was great. The "cardio scene" near the beginning had me rolling! I thought I was well cast but I'm a Woody H. fan anyway and the BM cameo was the high point for me, not to mention seeing the Ghostbusters outfit. I wondered if it was a repro or the real deal.

Shaun of the Dead is still my number one zomedy, but this is a very close second! Can't wait for the DVD & sequals! ;)
