Zombieland!

Also, is it me, or was Woody's signature gun in this film a sawed-off Winchester 30-30? if so, how the hell could he shoot with it since a rifle needs a long barrel to launch the bullet (they came off as portraying it as a shotgun; that whole short barrel spray effect.)? what about loading? a 30-30 that short would only hold like two shots or so. Can somebody explain?

Seemed like a really cut down rifle, yes. But why do you think a rifle needs a long barrel to launch a bullet? What do you think the difference between that and a pistol is? My pistol's barrel is internally only like 2 inches. A rifle only allows the bullet more time in the barrel with more time for gunpowder to burn behind it and accelerate it to faster speeds.

From imfdb.org it is a Winchester 1892 Mare's Leg, holding 6 rounds. With such a short barrel, it would be remarkably inaccurate at anything other than short range, and wouldn't have nearly as much stopping power...

Seems like the kind of gun Tallahassee WOULD carry, especially since he likes being up close and personal, as well as messy when it comes to his kills. Heck, he used a banjo to kill one zombie, a baseball bat for another, and hedge trimmers on a third.

This movie was really awesome!!!!

Just got back from seeing it tonight. I highly recommend it. Huge fun factor and the surprise cameo was great too as well as a nice 80's homage to a well known film we love. HAHAH!

Thumbs up!

Should we have a spoilers line in the title so people who havent seen it yet get to enjoy the stuff without expecting it?

I saw this movie today and I have to say it was awesome as well. On a side note we stopped by walmart to grab some groceries tonight and I noticed they were all out of Twinkies... The end is nigh.

People who rush into threads regarding something they don't want to know anything about should learn to practice self restraint.

Just a quick hit, I still believe "Shaun of the Dead" is THE leader as far as zombie movies go... The English are on another level when it comes to humor, "top gear" for example...

Other than that, Zombieland is a very close second. Entertaining the whole way through, and not explaining too much at the same time.. that generally kills the fun/realistic factor to the whole zombie apocalypse thing.

Did anyone else get the feeling the lead kid actor was related to Michael Cera? Their acting styles, or personalities, I thought were very similar.

9/10

Yes...gotta agree with you on the close second. Zombieland was a little too predictable....I guess it's pretty well open for a sequel though lol

It was fun and one of the better movies lately. Woody was great. I think he is often underated lol

Just saw it tonight, loved it. Didn't really have a single complaint except maybe the lack of realism in the guns (12 year old girl firing a shotgun with no recoil?) Unfortunately, I left the theater during the credits for the first time in probably 2 years and didn't see the after credit scene. I guess I'll have to find some alternative way of seeing it now.

It was ok. My favorite zombie comedy will always remain Return of the Living Dead followed by Dead Alive, and third, Shawn of the Dead.

Finally got around to seeing this the other day, and I too left during the credits. D'oh! Its was a fun movie though, the BM cameo was pretty awesome.

Just came back. Loved it. I've been excited about this since I saw the trailer months ago, and it didn't disappoint. Could I pick some holes in it? Sure. Wasting ammo, power still on. Not enough zombie mayhem. But it was so clever and fun I just can't bring myself to nitpick. The thing is, if a movie's good you forgive it for a lot of these little things. Right up there with Shaun and Dead/Alive as one of the great Zombie comedies. Had kind of a fun "Superbad" vibe about it, which caught me off guard. Maybe because the lead was channeling Michael Cera's performance. And as a long time Woody H. fan, it was a thrill to see him in this role. Perfect casting.

Return of the Living Dead :thumbsup is hysterical.

Part Two was the actual funny one. The first one is like the first "Evil Dead", more scary than funny. Seriously, a zombie movie where a zombie says, "Get that damn screw driver out of my head!" earns a comedic award.

What's the deal with the soundtrack? There's the original score, but I can't find one for the other tunes.

whoa whoa! There was a scene after the credits? did I hear that right?

Frak! went and saw it yesterday afternoon. Hilarious! Poor Bill Murray!
