Zelda Fire/Ice/Light Arrow project

Crispy Props

I realised I keep making projects but never posting them on the site so might as well start now.
I just finished a Zelda full heart and thought about staying in the trend and following it up with a fire arrow from the older games I played way back when.
Its still early days but thats as good a place to start as any.

I started on the base and will work out the dimensions of the arrow and arrow head based on what the crystals end size is. The basis for the crystal is just a lump of polyester resin with some blue dye. It was pressure cast over night then ruff shaped on a bench sander. I'm now just running it down with some 320 wet and dry to remove those nasty disk marks (my arm is killing me).

Progress
After a go over with 320 wet and dry and then some 600 I gave it a coat of cellulose primer. It's quite smooth but no enough for the finish I want so its onto the brasso to polish.

Nice and shiny.
If you wax it with carnauba polishing wax after hitting it with 800-1500 sanding sponges, you'll get a glass-smooth finish.
