I've seen a couple of similiar threads, but none where people actually rank them. So here goes, my Christmas Movie Top 10:

    1. Elf
    2. Arthur Christmas (I thought it was really good)
    3. A Christmas Story
    4. Christmas Vacation
    5. Scrooged
    6. Nightmare Before Christmas
    7. Love Actually
    8. Home Alone
    9. A Christmas Carol (2009, Jim Carrey)
    10. A Muppet Christmas Carol

Let the arguments for/against begin. I know there are a couple people will have a problem with, and I'm ready to discuss for or against any of them. What does your top 10 list look like?

Pretty hard to think of ten tolerable Christmas movies, let alone make a top ten list.

Having got to watch both Die Hard and Trading Places at work in the last week (missed Rare Exports) and White Christmas screening coming soon this is a topic somewhat on mind; sure the above're somewhere in the mix, but I can't rank in terms of favorite to less so, ten times.

    So in no particular order:

    Die Hard
    Trading Places
    White Christmas
    A Muppet Christmas Carol
    Babes in Toyland
Christmas Carol (I know most prefer the '51 version, but my inner geek still enjoys the cast of the '84 TV version)
    Rudolph (R/B)
    Miracle on 34th Street ('47)
    Gremlins
    A Midnight Clear

Excellent choices and laughing my * off at the link, haha. Are those really considered Christmas movies though? Set around Christmas time, yes, but that's like saying Team America is a love story (puppet sex scene...wow) or Dances with Wolves is about the Civil War

Die Hard is not a Christmas film, but we all agree it's "A Christmas film".... all I know is, when ever some one in my family or at work says the word "Christmas", one of the smart * says "CHRIIIIIIIIIISSSSS MASSSSSS" like Ricky's mom, lol!!!

    Yes, thank you!

    Scrooge (1970) - IMDb

This is my all time favorite Christmas move. I *love* this film, and it gets me every time I watch it. Albert Finney is brilliant.

If you havent seen it, you are missing out.

The movies/shows I have to watch every year are:

    1. Christmas Vacation
    2. Home Alone
    3. Home Alone 2
    4. Elf
    5. A Christmas Story
    6. Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean (good taste, celticruins!)
    7. SpongeBob's Christmas Special (hillarious)
    8. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original cartoon)
    9. Garfield's Christmas Special
    10. Bugs Bunny Christmas (we have it on tape from back in the 80s)
    11. The Santa Clause

And then there's the typical rudolph, frosty, and the rest. I just ordered from amazon the Claymation Christmas from the 80s. I haven't seen that in probably 20 years. I just remember the California Raisins were in it.

What a tired, old joke. :rolleyes

I might've banned ya for this post alone.

    The Wook

ps~Recently saw Bad Santa, not impressed. But I also finally saw Carrey's Grinch film, and thought that was pretty darn good. Not a fan of Taylor Momsen's looks now, but as Cindy Lou Who, she was an adorable child. Baker's make-up was sensational, as usual.
