hi all.

I recently got a fiberglass yoda head which apparrently was made by lucas film for episode 2 but wasnt screen used.

when i got the cast it was in ok shape, it was riddled with air bubbles on teh surface and the guy had odviously done some filling of the cheeks and brow and sanded them smooth. It took a day with a lump of milliput and sculpting tools to fill all the holes and re sculpt all the texture which had been sanded down.

I finally got it to a stage i was happy with and painted it yesterday

the eyes are installed, i next plan to add the hair.

im going to be making the body out of plumbing materials and fiberglass and will be sculpting my own hands and feet.

I havent decided on a pose yet so any ideas?

also, if anyone has done a similar project and would care to share some tip, its all appriecated.

also, im completly stuck on the robes so if any one can help there it would be immensly helpfull

I agree...nice PT style Yoda, BUT get rid off that gloss...looks like he had a close encounter with slimer from GB ;)

As far as positioning the body goes, the way his ears are down and he is looking up, I would recommend his arms straight at his side, down, lightsaber in hand, deactivated. His feet should be in the position of just rounding up on his toes, like he's ready to jump, activate the saber and get going!

Just my thoughts.

Nice score, by the way.

Too glossy. Even with the flash enhancing it, its too glossy. Colors look great, but mask the eyes and hit it with a satin or flat clear. Easy fix.

i had planned too, just havent got any and cant get to the shop till saturday.

NMR- i like the positioning idea, thanks

bit more progress.

I made the body today out of plastic pipe, connectors but of sponge and loads of gaffa tape.

Im going to try one of those childrens yoda costumes for the robes, if they work, ill move on and sculpt hands and feet

love to hear your thoughts

that cool pal, i saw you said you checked there and looked myself. thanks tho

If I came home and saw that in my house, that would scare the **** out of me, in the condition you have it there. :eek

That would be SO funny, to put that outside my daughter's room, for her to see when she came out in the morning! :lol

You're doing a great job, don't get me wrong. :lol It's just that he looks scary without any clothing or details to him, reaching out like that... :eek

"I'm here for your daughter!"

By the way, what do you envision yoda doing in this pose?

But no offense, on the lighter side of it, seems like yoda plucking apples:)

Peace
