Finally got the latch mechanism working the way I wanted - here you can see the near-final parts.

Although I'd been printing these on a "raft" to keep the parts together, I decided to do the final printing on these without it, so the bottom surface wouldn't need as much cleanup. After the final print, I smoothed the parts and finished them in my faux metal finish, assembled them, and done at last!

I got a little sloppy with the CA glue, securing the backs of the button hinge pins, but overall I'm very happy with how it came out.
Now I get to address the actual harness...
