hey guys as the tital said its yet another dragon priest mask i know there are lots around now but i couldn't find any in the UK for sale so a little while ago i started making my own not wanting to pay 50 pounds + on postage but you know what they say "if you can do" so i did and im now nearly finished
So this was how i started a basic pep it was only after i finished and started building this up that i found a much nicer pep model made by JTM
After i sloshed the inside with some a few coats of rondo so i could heavy sand the face with ought any problems of breaching a hole this was done after i gave the face a coat of fiberglass resin to hard it up some.
After 2 coats of resin 1 was very thin to make sure it soaked in with ought warping the model and a second heaver coat to get all the bits i missed.
So here id got some filling work done and used some epoxy sculpt to build up the forehead into a rounder shape as it was far to flat for my liking before.
i was rather happy with it at this point so here i used some spotting putty to get into all the nooks and cracks that its ether to hard to get into with sand paper or just needed a tiny bit of filling in the divots from sanding the bondo down
A few coats for primer later i still wasn't happy with a few things so instead to hours of filling and sanding i used some sulfur free clay to build the areas until i was satisfied using this i then made a junk mold to make a rondo cast that would be easier to get a good finish, that's the down side iv found with using multiple things to build stuff up, things sand at different rates and you breach the paper underneath and it can make it hard to finish properly
This was the junk mold you might notice its thin but i only need one good pull from it so its not a problem
not to shabby
First test pull from the junk mold using sooth on 60D resin
I finally got around to pulling a rondo cast to finish properly that's as far as iv got at the moment as it was just half an hour ago i started making the master mold so pics to follow
'
Just messing about with that junk pull while i'm waiting for the silicone to set
