Here are my progress pics (if I've posted them correctly.). The engines are (of course) Saturn rockets and L'eggs eggs. The main fuselage is made of several wood blocks, sanded and cut to shape, laminated in styrene. There is a brass tube running the inside length of the fuselage allowing for wiring (which will later power some fiber optics in the c-pit). The c-pit is made of balsa foam, sanded and cut to shape, and vac-formed with a layer of styrene. Obviously I have a lot of filling and sanding to do, but wanted to share where the project is. I've been a lurker around here for some time and am happy to finally be able to contribute something.
I have spect nearly $3,000 on kits and have assembled quite a collection of the proper parts - but am still a long way off. In the near future I'll be posting for some help on ID's and hopefully someone would be gracious enough to help out.
One last note - I've found a local guy who can rotocast, and I'll be getting a quote from him on what it would cost to produce a small number of the c-pit piece. If that works out, I'll offer it up to this board only - at cost, since you guys have been so helpful in the past with parts ID's, etc. That's all for now.
Dan
PS: If these images don't appear (there should be 2 of them) could someone please help me get a clue on how to do it. Thanks
OK, thanks for the tips.
