Hi all,
Now...Wolverine Prop replicas. X-Men 1 wolverine prop replicas:
Claws, Jacket, Belt buckle, Watch and what have you....
Who still makes Wolverine Claws? I´m gonna need a pair for the release of Wolverine spin-off movie....I´m so stoked about it.....
I´m looking for metal claws...preferrably aluminum (not papermaché or some BS) .
I´ve allready set my eyes on the Wested Leather Co. X1 style Wolverine Jacket. That thing is sweet. Have any of you that Jacket too? I would like to hear about the quality and how it compares to the price.
Will buy it as soon as funds are replenished.:confused

Oh....and the Belt buckle....I´ve searched everywhere now....or so it feels.v:unsure

Oh yeah, another question.....What kind of boots does Hugh Jackman wear in the battlescene in the snow with Sabretooth? Anyone know?

Any info and help would be appreciated

THEMAN, deals with X1 etc mc jackets by Vaneson. He shows some interesting photos of weathering the jacket(s). Also look up another member, DAVIDYR1. I'm sure there are more, but you can start there.

They both are helpful and knowledgable. Both brands of jackets look impressive as well.

Try searching "wolverine jackets." There is alot of research material out there..

Indy Magnoli also makes an impressive X1 jacket.

I don't recall Wolverine wearing a watch in X1, but in X2 he wore a Red Monkey Designs Watch

Here's a few pics of my Vanson

For the belt buckle, keep searching ebay for "Indian head belt buckle" or "Indian chief belt buckle" every week or so. They pop up on there fairly frequently.

i had a wested X1 and i just sold it recently to buy a vanson.
the quality is top notch, i really loved that jacket. i have never touched a vanson so i cannot tell you how wested compares, but i would say wested is definitly a great replica (with a few inaccuries)

as far as the buckle goes, i got mine from ebay for $8, it was not painted, but that can be solved fairly cheap.

check out www.filmjackets.com/forum

you can find alot of info there, and maybe even have some additional questions asked/answered

Hey!
Thank you all for the info. Man....I´m having doubts about the wested now, having seen that vanson....Really beautiful Jacket! What I like about the Wested is that its´not as glossy as the Vanson. But then again it´s maybe not as accurate as the vanson. Still having doubts.
How much does a Vanson go for these days?

Come to think of it....he doesn´t wear a watch in X1....:lol

Thanks again for all the great info. I was afraid to be ignored as a newbie.....just goes to show how great you all are.

Take care all
-Lars

the wested and vanson both will have that glossy-ness to them at first.
you can dinge that down many ways. the obove vanson had a lot done to it, and then was conditioned (find his post about that jacket)

vansons (if ordered through www.loganscloset.com)
go for about $550 + SH
but they will not look like Knightsabers fresh from the factory.

the main difference in the movie jacket and a wested is the waist stripe(going only to the side seam)
and the length is slightly too long

heres is a pic

there are a few
1. the waist stripes on a wested only go to the side seem of the jacket
when they should go around to the back area as seen on the vanson.
2. jacket lenght, the wested jacket is a fitted jacket as it should be, but
it seems to run longer than a motorcyle jacket should. which may or may not be corrected by asking wested to shorten the jacket (sometimes they do it and other times they don't.

3. Price wested jacket with shipping is around $330, Vanson is about $575

as far as quality i really connot tell you YET, because i've never worn a vanson jacket, but they are designed as motorcyle jackets and will protect you as such, where as my wested was a pre-distressed cowhide, and i don't think it would offer as much protection as vanson (but i don;t ride anyways)

for the money wested is a very nice jacket, i had mine for over a year and wore it whenever possible.

I have a few X1 and X2 jackets left from last years second run and I'll be offering them both in the J/Y very soon at a ridicules price...ridicules as in low...:)

I need to free up an entire room that's just full of goodies that I havent had time to bother with for the last few years so this should be a great opportunity for those on a budget, yet want a great leather jacket.

We're doing the inventory now, then I'll have a thread up in the J/Y...I just need this stuff out fast...and will make it easy for anyone wanting these particular items. :)

Sometime this week I should be ready with the list and pics.

David! uhhhh, I´m very interested! My birthday is coming up soon (05/12) and I plan on treating myself with a Wolvie X1 Jacket. :love
The Junkyard is great...only thing is that, with me being a newbie I can´t post or reply threads in the Junkyard... So if you want to give me an opportunity on you items....please PM me....or allow me to pm you.
Thanks

Indy Magnoli: Great Jacket, bro!!!

I've had Wolverine jackets from P&D, Wested, DavidYR1, and the Vanson I settled on in the end has been the absolute best, that is why I went with them as a supplier for all my Wolve jacket needs. But you asked about Wested compared to Vanson... I would put Wested in about second or third place behind Vanson in preferred X1 jackets. I would place Indy Mag's probably in second for sure if I had one wrapped around me for a minute. But out of the jackets I've owned the Wested comes in just behind the number one Vanson.

Here is my Wested (from the front they look pretty good)

I have the details pretty much together for an Origins jacket now as well and will be working with Vanson on getting a pattern together to release this jacket sometime this summer or by early fall at the latest.

Very expensive, I know, but sometimes you can find deals on eBay every blue moon, but close enoughs seem to work with most, but I had to snag two official Zimmerli's.

His jeans from X2/X3/XO were Levi 527 lowrise bootcut. Not sure on the jeans from X1, but the cut seemed custom fitted for his high inseam.
