X-Wing studio model detail and differences

Hey folks!
I am working on THE perfect X-Wing.
I know a lot of you have a lot of knowledge about the Studio scale X-Wings...
I spent a lot of time in research on this subject, but there are still a lot of things confusing...

May it be that
all of the "hero" X-Wings of ANH were different?
besides the painting I found several major differences between them.
Okay, the obvious ones like the Saturn V-half for the engine and the length of the exhaust nozzles... but...

For example Red 2 has a completely different fuselage shape, different side-caps, nose,...
Wing length and angle of spreading seams to be different, too.

Trying to figure out every difference between these 1/24 studio X-Wings requires your help!

What do you know about the different studio models built?

THANKS!
Marko

Hey Marko,

You probably won't get much response from people about this subject. If you do a search on this site for "X-wing help" there is a thread that will answer many of your questions. It helped me out a lot, but be prepaid to sift through it.

Good luck with it and good luck with your X-Wing.

Dave

The aforementioned thread has years worth of info, take a look:

Short answer, there is indeed a lot of variance between models, and there are surprisingly few details that are common to all. So one is faced with either duplicating a specific model or idealizing your own with a mixture of details from several.

thanks, I knew this old thread, but unfortunately major part of the pics are gone...
anyone who collected these pics?
Thank you!
