X-Wing droid plate-Parts Identify

Gone but not forgotten.
After reading thru old threads I thought I would bring this up in a new thread. A lot of parts on the droid plate on the X-Wing have been identified and some have not. What is the current list of known objects used on the droid plate?

As far as I know, they have all been identified. It should all be there in the old threads...

I dont have the list under the eyes but from what I can recall :

-1/600 Airfix Scharnhorst
-1/76 Airfix Panther
-1/24 Airfix BF-109
-1/24 Airfix P-51
-1/700 Hasegawa Ticonderoga
-1/15 Bandai Stug IV

And some more other parts...
But as said, they all have been identified and you can find them on vairous threads here mainly in the X-Wing thread.

A lot of the pics are gone from those old threads. Not to mention that digging thru 30 pages to find info. Most revolves around the engines and wings from what I have found. We really need stickied topics for subjects like this.

Tell me about it.

I'm currently in the break down stage of converting the big Hasbro toy into a more accurate version, similar to what's been done before.

I read in one thread (which one is beyond me, there's so many) that someone made some parts that can be used for this. Other than what's available in an existing kit, I mean.

Maybe someone should just offer R2 Strips.

20 shipped?

Frankie, why limit your run to shipping just twenty? I'd say crank out 40 or 50 of 'em. I mean hell, for the buck or two of resin it takes, why the hell not do a ****load of them? Whenever you have excess resin from another pour, just pop out another...

I dont know.

What sort of demand is there? whats a fair price?
Id go 15 shipped. Less than that I wont bother.

I have the Pyro strip.

Let me know, Ill pour some up.

I'd take one for $15 shipped. Are there pics of this? How does it compare to the strip in a Salzo kit?

Don't mean to hijack the thread or step on Franks toes if he wants to do some R2 strips, but i am considering doing a V3 "builders kit" that would only include the V3 fuselage, nose, droid plate, back plate wing mounting blocks, and some of the rare kit parts like the sealab stuff....just thought this would be a good place to see if people would be interested in something like that....again sorry to potentially hijack...let me know...

I'd certainly be interested in a builder's kit if one is made available. Would the parts also include some of the Saturn V engine bits at all and maybe the phantom rear engines?......or how about a full kit....sorry to ask...

Thanks Mike...

Not sure right now, it's just a consideration at this point...i need to think it over a bit, the advantage to doing just the parts listed is it's less labor so i can offer it at a lower cost, the disadvantage is that you would need to buy multiple kits of the Saturn V and phantom so any savings would be eaten up by that, but then you would have real kit parts....again this is just an idea at this point....

Mike I would be interested in a builders kit as well. Or, why not just do a V4?:cool
I'd still like to see a run of droid strips as well.

Hello Mike

Many thanks, I can see your logic behind the builder's kit. It would kind of force me down the route of investing in RTV and casting materials. Because as you indicate the thirst of Saturn V parts and the no longer available 1/32 Phantom F-4J would require a slightly more efficient means of turning out the requisite components. However fully appreciate your desire to reduce the labor cost aspect and perhaps even the hassle of doing it! I for one even though I'm getting the eFx model would love to get my hands on a full kit or perhaps two. However I'm just one person expressing a view as well as a desire for a V3.

Anyway as you suggest you're considering this as an option and whatever you decide i'm sure (including myself as greenhorn newcomer to all this) will be respected by all.

Regards

'Jay.

I would not need to do a V4, maybe a V3.1, one of the things about the full kit is that it's like 80 or 90 parts, if i can find a way to reduce the amount of parts by combining some parts it would likely make the kit better and i would be more open to another run, it may not cut the cost at all as it would not decrease the amount of material, but it may make it easier for me to think about another run in the spring....again just thoughts for the moment...

Mike, anything new from you I would be interested in. I'm still plugging away on my V2 (Blue Leader) and love it. I had not done a resin kit for quite some time and realized how much I missed it. Parts kit, full kit, accessory kit, etc. You make the parts and I will get them.:)

That's a great idea I think, that's what I bought from you, and while it needs a lot more work to get it complete, that's great to get a model which are very close to the original (not only the shape but also the material used :)).

If there is any R2 strip at $15, I would buy one ! Not for an X-Wing but for a DS turret :).
