X-Men First Class Movie Discussion

Just back from seeing it... the verdict is in. Get it watched. I retract previous comment about sed cameo, they pulled it off well. Points.

Hmmm now for the great debate, do I go at 12:01 tonight and be groggy tomorrow or go tomorrow night...

At my age now, it's not worth going and feeling like ass the next day for a midnight showing. I like the official opening day events. Bragging rights don't add up when you have a jobby-job.

I'll be there wearing my X2 jacket, buckle, belt and the rest of the gear. But I wear that daily anyways. :p
I'm such a dork...

Yea, its strange normally the US gets first release and then later it opens in other countries.

And yea SD you are right, I'll catch it tomorrow night.

it makes me a little excited that I have seen it before the US, not very often that happens lol. I look forward to your verdicts on the movie. But over all I think you guys will like it.

some suprisingly positive reviews across the board. Seems like it'll surely beat out that other guys in day-glo green. :D

Sadly there are no post credit scenes at all. But this is the best X-Men film since X-men 2, absolutely no complaints or faults in plot, dialogue, pacing or action. I'm thinking of going back for another viewing tomorrow! This is a film strong on characterisations. For me, Mystique and Magneto are clearly the best realised of the bunch, and Shaw is just perfectly evil.

+1 I concur

I loved it! I have never been a comic book fan, so I do not know if it pisses on canon. I certainly does reboot the movie series.

Cameos are done perfectly in my opinion.

I was told I should have sat through the credits, so I'm assuming there's something worth seeing. Sadly, we decided to leave as the movie ended, as we were getting really tired.

I certainly does reboot the movie series.
I don't see this as a reboot, rather than simply a prequel story to those already told, similar to the Wolverine story, but just much, much better.

Incidentally... when watching the first X-Men this new movie put a whole new spin on characters and various stuff happening in that one. That's the first time I've experienced a prequel that ADDS new dimensions to an already existing movie and makes it a whole new experience watching that one. Things that didn't have an emotional impact previously or as strong and layered suddenly became something else, due to what happened in First Class. AWESOME.
