Hi, Im trying to make Blink from x men but I need some advice on 2 things :

First I want to make straps to hold a quiver (on some extra belt like straps) but I don't really have anything skills or equipement to work with leather, is there any alternative that I could be using that would be solid enough to resist the movement and the weight?

Second, I want to make a replica of her energy bolts with some LEDs so make them glow, I'm having a hard time finding a material to make the bolts with though, any suggestions ?

Thanks!

I was thinking casting a plaster form, then silicone with either LED lights or simple light sticks inside. On the quiver, what they call horsehair braid or boning from the fabric shop can give it nice support.

you can use vegetable leather, this material is durable and you can use glue to put the pieces together and to get a good finish. Use scissors to cut the vegetable leather.

Hair and makeup were about a 5 minute job before we left for the movie (so I know I can do better). One of the most comfortable costumes I've made. Didn't get around to the energy bolts, or the bracers on the forearms.

Hi,

My name is Azuma. My wife, Jane, recently built a Blink movie costume, and entered a contest called "Show your X-men Spirit" held by MTV Taiwan. We entered yesterday, and about 250 votes behind the person who has highest votes currently. My wife spent a lot of hours building this costume from modifying a jacket, and everything on the costume is all hand sewed. We really like to win this contest, so if you feel that Jane's hard work deserves a credit, please kindly help us by casting a vote on this contest's page on Facebook at the following below. Simply click on the blue button to the right hand side of my wife's photo, subsequently, a window will be popped up in which you will need to click the right hand button twice to confirm. (sorry that the website is all in Chinese) Thank you so much!

Best regards,
