Wyatt Weed, The Lost Predator...

Well we know for sure that various Predator parts from P2 have floated off somewhere, because over the years once in a while a collector will show pictures of something (or stuff gets Ebayed), or a friend of a collector will tell us for certain a particular piece is in their hands or something. But it's usually just a piece here or there, never a full costume.,,,, except the one-armed stunt man playing the main Predator has his full suit on a mannequin at his house. One of our board members met him.
 
It is alot of fun reading all this backstory about filming.
Sucks that alot of it ends up in the dumpster. Alot of us would kill for a piece of that history!

Hey Wyatt,
Do you happen to know specifically who any of the other Predators were? We have always wondered.

We heard a rumor some of the guys in costume were LA Lakers who were friends of Danny Glover at the time. Is this true?

The only other one we know of so far is when that the video of the "dancing Predators" showed up last year, it said that Lionel Douglass played RAM. Not sure if he did in the movie, or just that video, as Wyatt has said he wasn't playing BOAR in the dancing video.

man this is so awesome, wyatt thank you sooooo much for joining the forum and sharing these behind the scene stories with us. it's truly amazing to hear these stories about the films.. it's the stuff we just don't hear about or read in any book.

i heard the story of the suits dumpster thus why i came up with the name "the lost hunters" like 7 years ago, i'm so glad you found your way home to the lair.

i guess can we can call you "the found one".

Thanks again for the great stories. I managed to get my gf to watch P2 last night (finally) and it was cool to now be able to point to one of the predators and proclaim "He is a member of the hunters lair". Welcome home!
 
I have to say Wyatt, you have made many childhood dreams come true by gracing us with your presence and joining the site. Sharing your journey with us is the greatest gift you could have given us as fans and we all thank you.

Agreed with everyone else here; Thank you so much for the time you're taking to enlighten us all on all these great stories. It's fantastic to have someone here who's not only able but downright willing to share so much with the predator fanbase. I really appreciate what you're doing here... we all do.


P.S. GUYVER!!!!

I grew up on the guyver films and I love them dearly, it's awesome that you got to work on them. The Guyver movie kinda opened my world up to anime and I thought the designs for the monsters (well the main ones) were epic.

It's funny, I didn't know that Steve Wang worked on Monster Squad... but I've always thought that the Creature design was so similar in execution to those of a few Zoanoids in the Guyver films, like Mizki's father or Crain from the 2nd movie.

I was curious if you had any information regarding this: A while back I saw someone selling a Lisker statue on ebay, the thing was amazing and perfect to the smallest detail. I was wondering where it came from, when and where they were available.. It's the first time I ever saw anything like that in my life.
 
Just catching up here and found this thread. I bought both of Wyatt's photos autographed and are fantastic quality, they are extremely friendly and helpful to deal with.
Wow, what a lot of new information and rumours to read. Being an owner of original screen used Predator suit parts I would definately agree that anything thrown in a dumpster was of no use to anyone. Some of my pieces are in poorer condition but they are all individual pieces that were deemed worth saving.
This is THE place for this type of information, most of us are big P2 fans and I was also interested to hear of the work on Guyver as those suits are also really inspirational. I would love to get Steve Wang's autograph eventually, he also did work on the original Boss Films suit and sculpted the dragon-like trophy skull/head that was to appear in the P1 ship.
As for P2 ship scenes, my storyboard shows the injured Pred taking his own life with a sword in front of the Elder. The boards were Kevin Peter Hall's copies but I don't think they got further than that.

That is a very very cool idea, sort of Samurai-esque. I think the way it played out at the end worked great tho. Danny killing The Hero Pred and proving himself in that way. All this Predator Folk Lore stuff gets me all crazy inside!

Someone made the comment this is better than Inside the Actors studio.... DAMN STRAIGHT!

This is amazing, another Predator joins the lair...and having it be the Lost Hunter. Just simply wow. I love reading your stories, thank you for sharing them.
 
I was informed that you finally got yourself signed up over here Wyatt.Awesome!!!Sorry it took me so long to join in on the discussion.I do not get over often as I would like to, but that will change as I have been upgrading my suit and also have some plans to tackle another sometime soon.After meeting you at FM, and getting the response I got with my suit, the pred fires are burning brightly for me.
I am going to unleash the upgraded suit for the upcoming Scarefest con this week......Too bad they could not get you signed up for it.Derek had to pull out due to filming pirates 4....You would have been a very welcome addition.

Anyway, it is so cool reading your awesome stories bro!!!It was so great hanging with ya,and I look forward to meeting up with you again at a future show!!!Thanks again for the awesome pics!! I am so honored that I played a part in bringing you out into the spotlight where you belong.
