I hadn't seen the lower creature just at the right of the "dragon" (loch ness monster according to me ) skull on the left part of 1st pic:

It is similar to a human skull but isn't one when you look closer.

I recall the bit in the comic about them hunting the dino's to extinction, but the other thing to consider is that there's nothing to say that particular triceratops came from Earth! Give their propensity for seeding planets for hunt/sport/COA rituals, perhaps they collected a bunch of specimens way back and populated other planets w/ them.
