Subject says it all.
ive tried to sell him but no one seems interested so i thought id give him a make over.
if i do this i will be adding led's to the engines so if any body has experience taking this model apart id love to hear it.
thx guys.

Im not sure id take it apart to light, but id not call you nuts to want a repaint, i say go for it buddy, i love to see Xwings being painted and beat up, what markings are you thinking?

While I have only seen 2 Icons X-wings in person...

I say go for it:thumbsup.

I'm sure you'll be able to finish it off better anyway.

I used to have an Icons, and I say definately do not try to disassemble for lights. A new paint job would definately improve the appearance for display, and with all the new awesome kits floating around it really won't affect the value since the Icons version didn't hold it's resale worth.

Sold mine a while ago, definetely repaint it it will look a ton better,

the icons were the first generation SS models commercialy available to the public but the paintjobs was awefull.

Shoot it with black primer then flat white and work from there.
Please post progress photos, would love to see the before and after.

ouch ...please....stop twisting my arm. ill do it, ill do it!!
:)
thx guys. youve talked me into it.

You might also want to consider reinforcing the wings to fix the drooping problem common to many ICONS x-wings.

As for the value, have you tried Ebay? I do not see ICONS x-wings on Ebay very often and when I do, they tend to sell at around $1K+ for a complete package. I remember an SE version selling for over $2K around the time MR announced their X-Wing.

I would expect the price to start falling with the announcement of the eFX X-Wing, so now may be a good time to sell. You can use that money toward an eFX X-Wing.
