Theres a ton i want to do, but ill see where it takes me, will recess the front body panel and rebuild all guns and mounts under the head, hey ill even fit the lil allen bolts in the legs to make it more authentic, but anyone got any more ideas. maybe itll make a nice replica afterall.

Yes Aegis, thats the one, its cheap and cheerful, but i think with the right work and a good repaint it could look nice, there was also a member here who did a kind of MR piece with one (speeder and all) which even at that stage looked passable, i just want to go a lot further and see what can be achieved.

Nice :thumbsup ....I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as I want to modify mine as well....one thing that I had questioned with this one is are the legs a tad short in scale with the body?

Maybe yes kev, but where does one draw the line lol, i think with the legs attached without the brackets and lowered down on the mount posts it could stretch a little bit, but then the body seems stumpy too, ill not be going insane with, just find a happy medium on detail, seriously ive not seen an accurate ATAT anywhere, so i think it should come out pretty cool, and cheap cheap cheap ....

Hey ralphee I just noticed something in this photo that you might not have known. The angled tube is SUPPOSE to be there, just not the flashing between it and the foot. I just wanted to make sure that you make sure to add it back if it's actually suppose to be there, hehehe.. ;)

I know Aegis, i trimmed it all off as the damper rod on the toy is awful and it should sit on a stand off fitted to the ankle joint. Ill replace it with a nice scratchbuilt couple of tubes fitted to together to give the appearance of it being jointed. Im OK for ref at the moment, using SW to Indy archives and Chronicles, both books seem to have good pics of all the models, thr archives has a lovely shot of the large prop, which seems to be what the WOTC in based upon, check out the lower leg halves, they angle in at the rear where they meet the knee joint.
