Here is my first real prop build, it's the Headless Horseman Helm from WoW that I built for Blizzcon this year. It had a soundboard that played all his emotes and flashed LEDs, controlled by a raspberry pi with an Xbox controller. The helmet is made entirely of Eva and craft foam. I attached a pvc pipe so I could wave it around. I'm very happy with how it turned out and everyone loved it!
That is some fine work you did there, love it . Always amazed at how good foam can look, what is the finish you put on it? It looks very solid. Did you make it from a pep file or is that your own design?
Thank you!!! I used Evil Ted's basic helmet tutorial for the shape and then spent a lot of time staring at the 3d model of it from wowhead. I patterned out the details and adjusted them as needed. It's coated and sealed with plastidip and then painted with silver spray paint with a hammered texture. I brush painted the bronze details and then weathered the hell out of it with black acrylic paint, and added some battle marks. It was the first time I worked with foam and I'd do a couple things differently but am so happy with how it turned out! THe whole thing only weighs about a pound!! All the electronics and pole add about 8 lbs to it.
