Worbla Strength properties?

I'm currently making a functioning classical guitar replica of the lute from Skyrim and I'm having some trouble bending the maple to form the rounded back of the body. So now while I take a break from bending I'm considering some alternatives for a back that would be strong enough to act as a guitar back, but also still look like "wood". I've never worked with worbla so I have no idea the kind of strength it has when formed so I was wondering if I were to do two or three layers of worbla, would it be strong enough to replace wood?

I've been trying to think of a really good suggestion, but I haven't come up with one. Worbla isn't super strong. I would consider it like a fast-forward paper mache. You might be better off making a pattern and doing a quick-and-dirty vacuform out of ABS or maybe carve the shape out of floral foam and make it out of fiberglass. I mean, either way you'll have to rely on a faux finish or painting it so you might as well go with something strong.

heat shaped abs hydrodipped with woodgrain?

heres a good example of heat shaping that doesn’t need to much in the way of gear
