Working on Wonder Woman Injustice armor for my wife for Halloween.
I have the gauntlets , belt and chest piece sculpted and ready for molding .
The chest piece is my first sculpt needing to deal with symmetry. Its a little off in places, but close enough.

Is there any reason I couldn't or shouldn't mold with rebound brush on? particularly the chest piece?

thanks

I'd recommend releasing the plaster bandages with some paste wax or Vaseline, and then seal and release the sculpture as usual.. but other than that you should be totally fine molding with rebound. Sealing the plaster will allow the silicone to come off and clean much easier. Nothing is worse than little plaster grains working it's way into castings.

Nice work on the sculpts!

So you mean seal the base of plaster around the sculpt with something like sonite wax, then seal everything with crystal clear , then before molding use normal release ?

Thanks

Also planning ahead a little on painting. I know on silver its best to base with gloss black,. Is there a best base coat color for gold?

Update. I have the chest piece almost finished . just need to get the straps/buckles on.
I based with a sandable primer , wet sanded, 2 coats in white, top coat in inca gold, then 2 clear coats.

Finished up the WW injustice kit for my wife with a few weeks to spare.
I rushed the belt sculpt and I think it could be better but she likes it so calling it done.
