Wolverine's Jackets

Still, the Wested jacket is significantly too long in the trunk....almost as long as the sleeves it looks like...

Does the stripe go all the way around the sleeve or do they make it like the movie and stop it at one point?

Those were exactly my points Mantis... Damn torso is definitely too long, looks even longer than their X1(although I would think they'd use the same jacket pattern to start) And I can't tell from the angle those sleeves lay on what the stripes are doing(except that they're way too far down the arm)
We've given them the info and pics they need to get both jackets correct, hopefully Wested will put the info to use...

heelo all
i finaly recieved the horsehide swatch from wested.
it is thicker and more rigid (as far as i can tell) from the cowhide which is good.

but when they said dark brown they meant it, it is dark.

Is it worth ordering from Vanson's? I've heard too many people complaining about their customer service or lack there of. I really want one of these but can't decide if I want to go Vanson or a close approximations...

yes it is the horsehide they can use for the indy jacket, but its not what they normaly use, and like the war of the worlds jacket they are made from lambskin, not horsehide

now that i see it in the daylight, its not as dark as i thought it was lastnight

here is a pic with it on my wested sleeve

me too, but im afraid of how long it would take to wear some.

hey trooper post some pics of your wested, i wanna see how broke in it is.

You shouldn't have any more serious problems with Vanson. The previous set backs were due to some miscommunications, leather shortages, and the fact that they had not made any Wolverine jackets in a while. If you call them up M-TH, or Satuday, ask for Mike in the showroom. Tell him you're interested in the wolverine and he can walk you through. Just tell him you're on the RPF and he'll know what you're looking for. Refer to page 22 in the thread for color samples and a pic of my jacket. I know Mike is a member of the board now, so let's see if he chimes in sometime soon.

Thats true, waiting for that tax return to give you guys a call.
[/b]
well if you like we can get the process started if you like

you should get it started as soon as possible, cus you will not recieve your jacket until summer. 6-8weeks really means 10-12weeks

hey mmvanson, why does the M19 leather appear to be so much thicker than the other leathers in the pics of the swatches.

what is the weight of the m19 vs say the walnut that you have now? and just to clarify the m19 is NOT horsehide? correct?

thanks.
mike

I don't think MI9 is horse. Could be mistaken though. MI9 is actually a good bit softer and thinner than the regular competition leathers. I don't know the weight, but the "mirage" (MI) leathers are used in Vanson's 'Metro' line of jackets that are not meant for riding, but rather for casual wear.
