GORGEOUS. Now that is what a Wolverine jacket should look like. All in all how much was it?

The price was the standard $559 plus shipping...of course I had to ship the first one back so I guess about $580 total. I'm glad you like it Mantis.

Well, I got my Vanson jacket yesterday...and it's AWESOME. The fit is great and the GA2 color is even better than I thought it would be. In my opinion, it is the best choice (besides MI9) for the X1 version. The specs on my jacket are as follows: WOLF style, GA2 color, same color gussets, gold trim. If you want a Vanson jacket, just call them up and ask for Mike Medeiros. He will handle all of the Wolf orders (he's VERY familiar with these now). You can get the walnut color if you want (see above swatches) and you must specify that you want the gussets to be the same as the jacket unless you want them to be the trim color. Here is a pic. I'll have more after the weekend.

Crap on a hat. They never sent me any samples, and it has been, nearly, 2 months since they said they would. You jacket looks nice, man. Back to being a torn to them on Monday again.

Well, I've been following this thread, and I finally decided to get a jacket. So, I chose the Wested one. I really don't care about screen accuracy because it's not for a costume. I was just wanting to replace my old one, and I need a new jacket for my bike. Anyway, thanks everyone for your great input on the variations of the jacket. Peace

-Jonny

Even though I'm not going for a spot on jacket, I decided that it's a little too long, so I emailed Wested. I told them that I'm short, and that most jackets are just too long on me, and that I'd really appreciate it if they could shorten it up to the belt line for me. I think it's a pretty golden plan, and it's actually the truth, too. So, I'll let you guys know how it works out. I also decided that I'd dye the yellow parts, probably with a few different colors, like layering with orange, red, and yellow. Talk to you all later

-Jonny

I would estimate that the waist stripes on the screen used jacket are about 1 1/2 inches at the zipper and around 5 to 5 1/2 inches at the back. Maybe Mantis can back me up on this. The stripes on my jacket are about 1 7/8 at the zipper and 6 inches at the back. If there was one thing on my jacket that I could just snap my fingers and change, that would be it. Just a tad too wide compared to the original jacket, but not much I can do about it now. And I just noticed something about the original jacket today while looking at the "snow" picture. The zip was actually on the left side instead of the right. At first I thought it could have been a flipped image, but the collar tab is on the same side. Doesn't really matter, I prefer the right side pull, but just weird that I've never noticed before.

Knightsaber,

your jacket makes me want to get a Vanson. Thank you very much for the information (I'm the guy that emailed you about a week or two ago). Now all I have to do is find the money. :eek

Hey Will, that's no problem. As far as the money goes, it's only half down to start the jacket and the other half upon completion...and worth every penny.

Mike, if you read this do me a favor. Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I think there were/are actually two different patterns for the waist stripes. I take your word that the pattern used on my jacket has always been the same, but I have just seen too much that suggests another pattern. Dont' take this as a sign of dissatisfaction. I LOVE my jacket and have no problems with it. But for the sake of others that may want the pattern on the jacket pictured above, try and look into that.

It's said that the stripes were originally red, and that after much destressing, it became an organish/gold color. So, throughout filming it would become more destressed meaning it would be more red earlier in filming. Mantis and all of you other experts... am I close in what I'm saying, or am I way off? This is just what I've gathered from reading over this thread...

So the color is gold? In some shots, the stripes look red. In others, gold. Logan's jacket is like a chameleon.
[/b]

Yeah Jonny got it mostly right. The original jacket had all red trim, but when the studio wardrobe people got a hold of it, they beat it up, sanded and sand blasted the jacket to give it the weathered look. The stripes faded to that orange/gold color. The Vanson color "gold" is the closest they have to the final product. The stripes didn't really change through filming though, but just from post weathering on. So if you want THE most screen accurate, order with red stripes and distress...but if you're like me and don't have the heart to take any form of sanding to such a beautiful jacket, just order with gold stripes.

Jonnytrooper and Knightsaber,

thanks again for the information on this jacket. I think I'll go for the red when I order it from Vanson. :)

I promise you you wont get the orangy color the studios finally received...there is rumor they added dye to it as well as weathering....
