Wolverine's Jackets

OK, I thought I'd bump this thread up with an update. I was able to return my first Wolf jacket that was made in the octagon leather and have a new one made. Vanson sent me a set of swatches to choose from . There are basically 4 colors available: octagon, wine, GA2, and walnut. GA2 and walnut are the best choices depending on how dark you want the jacket to be. I chose GA2, but I had a tough time deciding between the two. My jacket should be done in about a week or so, maybe two weeks. If anybody wants a vanson and doesn't mind not having the origial MI9 leather, then you can choose between these other alternatives. If you do order, you will also have to specify that you do not want gold or red in the gussets (sleeve zippers), but rather the same color as the jacket if you desire that. Here are a few pics of the swatches to help.

These colors in these pics are pretty ture to life, but if you still can't decide, I would go ahead and request some swatches from Vanson so you know exactly what you're getting.

A guy on SSH and I are trying to see how man would have serious interest in a screen accurate X3 Wolve jacket done up by Bates...
Their price is pretty steep at $900 the custom jacket for one person but it is incredible workmanship from what I've seen, and they are the OG X2 maker.

Let me know for a headcount on who would be interested and what price range would be reasonable to you.
If we can get a group buy together for a much reduced price it would benefit us all...
 
I'm in for a group buy for a Bates... but they have to guarantee that it's screen accurate to the X3 Wolverine jacket. None of this crap that Vanson has been pulling. Quick question... what are the SSH boards?

If we're having Bates do it for this kind of $$ we're not settling for anything less than perfect. :)
 
What's the news on the X1 jacket? I've been following this thread since the start and it seems the X1 still has not been pinned down by any company, right?

Cold season is coming and I need a new jacket. :lol
 
Batty - Wested's seems to come the closest AND most readily available option so far for the x1... I think from all the complaints, Vanson is trying to do right by people, but that still has yet to be seen...
 
Just got back from a week in Detroit. Hopefully I will be staying around home and will find out tomorrow. TheMan got the leather just fine and appreciate your help. I will be contacting Wested as early as tomorrow and sending the leather in. Sorry for not being on here more. This past month has been a whirlwind of activity. Get to see how long I get to stay at the new Toyota plant each month. Keep me updated.

Wow, I was surfing through the early pages of the thread, and I found an old post of mine where I posted the X3 jacket on ebay to see if it might be able to be made. Turns out someone replied saying that they could do it, they are located in Germany, I'll repost the link to the thread, in case anyone wants to check it out.

Hmm, I checked out his website and the jackets actually look pretty good. It looks like the company specializes in copying other jackets (Vanson's "STAR" jacket, Bates, etc.) This may actually be promissing for getting an accurate X3 jacket for a decent price.
 
Not much going on it seems... we do have Bates (the OG maker of the X2 movie jacket) available to do a group of X3 jackets for a discounted $750 each. If we get a bunch of serious takers on that we might be able to get them to come down a bit more though...

I'm guessing Wested won't even think about doing an X3 version until after the Halloween rush.
 
Yeah, someone posted that jacket on SHH too, the pattern for it looks pretty good, the collar is supposed to have rounded edges though, and the leather looks too off. The brown leather reminds me of somthing closer to what they used on the Daredevil movie costume. :p
 
I quite like that. I think the pattern is good and if it was done in the lambskin Wested use for their Raiders jackets (or even what they're using for the X1 jackets.) then I'd snap one of those up in a second.

I dont like the shiney redish brown of that. Otherwise.. I want one :lol
 
They told me they would do it in a chestnut brown that could be weathered well....I like the pattern as well and the sleeve stripes look good. And $150 for Petes sake.
 
I guess I'm just stuck on all the things that are wrong with these now... B) To me something as simple as the sleeve zippers missing really puts me off.
If you can get it in a better color for $150 I guess it's all in what that's worth to you. At least it's a start that they're flexible with a different color/size... maybe there is potential there.
 
Well, I got my Vanson jacket yesterday...and it's AWESOME. The fit is great and the GA2 color is even better than I thought it would be. In my opinion, it is the best choice (besides MI9) for the X1 version. The specs on my jacket are as follows: WOLF style, GA2 color, same color gussets, gold trim. If you want a Vanson jacket, just call them up and ask for Mike Medeiros. He will handle all of the Wolf orders (he's VERY familiar with these now). You can get the walnut color if you want (see above swatches) and you must specify that you want the gussets to be the same as the jacket unless you want them to be the trim color. Here is a pic. I'll have more after the weekend.
