Hey Gun, you may want to adjust or have someone adjust the settings on whatever you are viewing your movies, the X2 jacket is definitely a darker, closer to black color with gold striping, and the x1 is definitely a very dark brown with dirty orange stripes(weathered red).[/b]
I know that. I've mentioned that in my first post, Friday, after getting my jacket. Thanks.
It was my choice to get gold over orange/red/primary yellow.
My settings are fine. I watch movies in a color TV set, not flat screens, laptops or other media that darkens or messes-up the color/brightness if you view the screen from any other point of view other than straight forward.

You have to remember not to look at only one particular scene as a color reference, and take many of the scenes to get an actual idea. Directors mess with coloring even more in the postproduction besides the lighting alone to creat certain moods and feels for particular scenes.[/b]
Obviously, you haven't read my post from last night, in which I listed ALL the scenes in X1 where the jacket appears in. In all the scenes, same dark, almost black jacket. I did post a list of all scenes, not just 1 scene. Hardly NO variations in the color between scenes. Watch the movie if you don't believe me. I've listed all the scenes for you and everyone to skip directly to those chapters.

And there seems to be two different jackets for this X1 movie anyway, so that throws even more mix in.[/b]
There can't be much of a difference since both jackets blended in as one: Broken, old and very dark.
<div class='quotetop'></div>
Because I honestly doubt they will just build a whole new jacket because the colors are off compared to the movie jacket that has had tonns of treatment.[/b]
..............You realize I'm not complaining about the color being SLIGHTLY off, but MILES OFF, right? I've seen tons of pics of Vanson's wolf jacket owners. The colors in my jacket does NOT match the movie jacket's color at all, NOT EVEN CLOSE. Not even close to the jackets Mantis has owned in the past, which he used to show-off a lot since X1. I paid $559.00, and I do expect to get what I paid for, specially from a company that brags about their costumer satisfaction record, blah, blah.
I didn't become a fan of this jacket yesterday. Like most props I replicate, I've research it for years. I know what I'm talking about.

Ordering the jacket with gold striping is inaccurate in the first place since there have never been gold stripes on that movie version. If the only thing wrong with yours is coloring, you've got a great base to start with.[/b]
A great base to start with will be a right colored jacket that would need darking oiling, sandblasting and breakage/aging, which is up to me to do. If we all are going to change from red/orange to Gold, to be more accurate, then we can also use dark brown over rust. I was given color samples, and I wrote the names in the order fax sheet. Only the gold was honored.
<div class='quotetop'></div>
But for all the little details that are off on this, it still looks more accurate from day one out of the package than any of the Vanson's I have seen.[/b]
I disagree completelly, but to each his own.
<div class='quotetop'></div>
The Vanson's are nice, but as has been said, even them being the OG maker, they don't have an exact jacket that looks "right" since every one is made individually. Each Vanson I've seen has been way off on the colors, or the shape of the waist striping is different from jacket to jacket, or the collar changes.
[/b]
True, the front zippers, in my jacket, are a bit too close to the gold triangles, which are a tad too fat, and there are other innacuracies regarding the size and distance between details. I've studied this jacket and took 3 years to get my measurents right. I'm awared of the changes, which I can live with. None of these are even worth mentioning, nor have anything to do with the color issue, which is the true issue here.
Could there be a chance they've sent me someone else's custom colored jacket?
