Wolverine's Jackets

<div class='quotetop'>(The Mantis @ Jun 5 2006, 09:01 AM) </div>
On my ol' computer....i will try to geth them transferred.

Mantis, did they ever standardize the one snap on the collar rather than two? K

So I just have to call them up, ask for the Wolverine movie jacket with gold stripes, and in my size. Sounds simple enough, anythinge else I should know before I place my order? (besides expecting to wait a while to get my jacket)

I would try to give them info on your body type....tummy? athletically built? borad shoulders small waist? etc....just some general parameters. Also, ask them what leather they are using....i like the lighter weight leather for this rather than the original one they made which were like armor.

Haha, it seems like with every answer I get there is a new question. But that is a good thing. I'm pretty athletically built so no real problems there. As for the leather type, is the original (MI 9 I guess) very tough. I know it's all relative to your own preference, but I'd hate to get a jacket that I'm uncomfortable in. I've heard another Vanson owner say that he really likes the toughness. Does the original leather restrict movement? I know it will probably be "broken-in" over time so it may not be as much of an issue down the road. And if I do decide to go with the lighter leather, what is it? Lambskin? Thanks for all the feedback on this Mantis. Very helpful.

They will send you a kit with leather swatches for you to choose. Yes, the leather is very thick. I tried talking on the phone with a Vanson jacket on, and the thick leather was crushing my inner elbow from holding the phone to my ear. I asked about a thinner leather, they had no alternative.
They suggested rolling up the jacket in a ball and putting it under the mattress to break into it.

I haven't seen the MI9 leather itself. They keep saying it is a "special leather." We will see.

REPLY BACK FROM WESTED.................. Please read from the bottom up.....

That is definately the best news that I heard today. Will be interested in one from Wested or anyone else for that matter. Thanks.

OK, it is on..

Read the below....I want EVERYONE to send me whatever pictures, reference or measurements you may have on the jacket....please send to dzaritsky@msn.com....I will collect them all and send to Gemma. I want to avoid 1000 people emailing them right now so they can concentrate on the pattern....here is the latest email back:

Dear Sir,
If you have any picture that would be good, we are making a pattern up
for one of the jackets from x men
Cheers Gemma

Stay Hard,
Snoose

Sent Pics of the Bates..

Gathering tons of reference but I have a feeling Wested already has a good pattern in place by her emails.....WE just want to make sure these are perfect....

LOL, guys guys....the pattern is not even finished never mind pricing, sizes or leather pics etc...this is not going to be an overnite process....this is going to take a while if it is done right...but there is at least some forward motion and that is something to smile about.

Wow, this is great news. I already have my Vanson on order, but at least there will be a cheaper alternative out there now.

I never would have thought when I started this thread that it would be this big. This is very cool news.

-Would they be interested in doing an X3 version after the X1?

Yeah, I think I would rather have the X3 version more then the X1. I like the subtlety of it.

Outstanding. Add me to the list of buyers. I'll definetly buy one if the finished product is accurate and if it's cheaper than the Vanson. Please keep us updated Mantis.

Thanks for getting on them about this.

Were they clear as to how long yours will take? Did they check on their MI9 stock?
