Wolverine's Jackets

I disagree. I think the X3 jacket is just too bland looking.

I actually like the look of the leather and even the color combo. The fact that the stripes only go half-way around the sleeves looks kinda cheap. That and the pointed waist stripes are the only thing that made the original jacket look like it would belong to Wolverine. This one just looks like it came off the rack from Wilson's. K

All very good points. I guess one of the things that makes me prefer the X1 and X3 jackets is the brown leather. I like the nice brown more than the black on the Bates (Is it Black or very dark brown?) I do think the X2 looks great on film though. Have to wait to see what the X3 version will look like. I like all three, but still hold the X1 on top. I remember trying to find one of these when the first film released back in 2000...and here I am still doing the same thing...hah.

The Bates is a fairly dark brown. But look at it compared with the Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man jacket behind the door. You can definitely see it's not black.

This is my favorite part of the Bates jacket. I just love the sleeve detail. K

I have been trying to find out the maker of the X3 jacket aswell and have not found anything yet. I did find out that Belstaff made Cylops's jacket in the new movie. Not sure if this has been mentioned?

Belstaff also made a jacket for the new Mission Impossible 3 movie. Check the 'News' section on their webpage for information. www.belstaff.com

Marlin. :)

Looking at the rounded collar tab from the new Logan jacket, it matches the collar style of the Cyclops jacket pretty well. Also, the leather and cut seem to be closer to the WoW jacket than either of the previous two. Maybe Belstaff made it and just haven't put it on their site yet for some reason. K

Good find. I think they might have done it to, I was looking and they have a thing on X3 for it, and Cyclops shows up, but no Wolverine..

Having now seen the new movie more than a few times. I can safely say I've well and truly fallen in love with the new version of the jacket. Any one got any more information or any new ideas on replicatons of it?

Not really, we got to get in contact with someone who can do it. I want the X3 version.... Midnight premire in 1 day btw. YAY

I agree, I havnt had much luck personally though.
Very much enjoyed the film, I work in a cinema, so we all watch the new films when they come in 'cause we have to test the reels. Only made me want this jacket more though.

Okay, I just saw X3 and I don't think Belstaff made Logan's jacket. All the jackets on the Belstaff site use spring snaps and Logan's used regular snaps like on most real(not fashion) motorcycle jackets. Maybe Mantis can verify this on his Belstaff. Also Scott's jacket wasn't a custom job, just one of their regular jackets(the racing blouson) in colors other than the one shown in the online catalog.

Other than those things, it seems it would be pretty easy to make the jacket off of a Vanson or Bates pattern. The back design looked to be the same and everything else is pretty close. The big thing would be to get the arm stripes the right width. The only other thing I saw was a seam that can't be seen in any of the stills I've seen(but I would need to look again) that runs from the collar across the upper chest like a baseball shirt and around the top of the sleeve similar to the shoulder caps present on many of the current racer jackets out right now. Nothing really fancy, just lookes like a simple line of stitching. I hope the description makes sence. If not, you'll see it when you see the movie.

Gotta say, after seeing this jacket in action, I really like the base leather jacket. The leather looks really nice, even better than the other two. I just hate that they got rid of the other details. K

Ah, I think the stitch detail you're talking about can be seen in this pic:

Definitely would not have picked it up if I wassn't looking for it. Good eyes K.

Would this be the jacket to which you're refering? :D I haven't added the X pins and buckle just yet. I may add those in time for the premiere. I wore this at the MI prop party.

This is made of 4 types of Italiam leather. I got the blades to go with it so I'm all set for X-MEN The Last Stand on Friday. B)

It feels incomplete without the X buckle and X neck buttons. I'm still concidering weather of wear or not wear my battle jacket to the premier. Living in Fl, during the summer, can be conflicting to wear leather.

Someone on SHH called the Fox prop Dept, and they said that the jacket was made in Canada, but wouldn't say the company which made them.

I have no idea... He said when he called the guy sounded like he was in a bad mood...

When I called WB to find out about the LW4 jacket, the guy was great. Same when I called Fox in 2001 for the Vanson, they even told me the label said Boston, Mass. When I called Fox about the X2 jacket and the Minority Report jacket, they said they were there but it didn't have labels in them. Who knows, maybe they didn't. When I called a few weeks ago, I couldn't even get an answer from the extension wardrobe routed me to(archives, I assume). And of course, they didn't respond to the voice mail. I don't know why it's gotten that way, they used to be really helpful. Maybe they don't want any reproductions running around. K

The guy who was looking to have these made has posted a 'sort-of' update over at the SHH boards incase you guys haven't checked there in a couple days
