Wolverine claws -- ecpnomical pair?

I just picked up a pair of the halloween store ones and they're really nice. Fairly accurate size and such. I THINK they're solid but don't know for sure. My plan, that I won't be doing until after halloween is to dremel off the tabs that connect them to the back of the hand and then make my own connection apparatus with coat hanger wire and a block of wood or something in the palm... Claws set me back about 15 bucks at Target and they're all over the halloween stores.

Exactly what I was going to do.

There's a cheap one made by disguise. Found them at my Super Target. Places online want 15-20 for them. They also make the bone claws. Just google them. I thought about modifying them to hold in the hand instead of over, but it was the only one they had. I don't want to ruin them either.

Really bad pair, I know, but for $19? I went and bought these....

These look like the metal ones I've seen around as I shop for more blades to add to my collection- if so, be aware that you are much more likely to accidentally ventilate someone with these, and that they may very well be illegal to even own, let alone go out in public with- check your local laws to be sure. And always remember- no matter HOW bad it itches- wait till you get the costume OFF before scratching!

These might be something you can customize tho, and make into part of a flesh tone glove or something. Consider mounting them to a palm mounted plate, so the claws move correctly with your hand. I once made a short set of similar claws that mounted to the back of a steel gauntlet (steel blades, welded to the gauntlet back), and I found out the hard way, that anything you whack with the blades can be really painful to the back of your hand, which is one of the less "naturally padded" portions of the body anyway.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the costume!

I know this has been asked before, but I'm curious if there is any finite answer for Halloween.... Looking for a good pair of Wolverine claws for under $100. Urethane would be better as I'm not looking to impale anyone.
