Woah...Corey Haim dead.

Back up people, they are now saying NOT an OD. He was staying at his Mom's to help her through Chemo. He was CLEAN. He had been complaining about running a fever, and asked his Mom to lay with him to comfort him. About midnight he complained about having trouble breathing, she told him to lie on his side, and he said that helped. About 2:15 he was up walking around in the bedroom, which woke her up, then he collapsed. I'm thinking Heart attack myself.

As a personal note, having had a Mother and Wife who have battled addiction, those here who sit in their Crystal palaces, flicking **** to the peasants below with comments like "No big Loss" or "I really can never work myself up to being all that sad when a famous person kills themselves with drugs. "

To quote Dickens ""They are Man's," said the Spirit, looking down upon them. "And they cling to me, appealing from their fathers. This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, "

And it is that basic Ignorance of Compassion for the Human condition and all it's flaws that I find utterly Reprehensible and I ask the 2 that posted those comments this, Would you speak those words to his Mothers face right now? If not, then be decent and Delete your comments.

I just have to check and make sure I'm in the right place...

isn't this the same forum that was up in arms because some of us thought a 25 year old mother of two who was a heroin addict SHOULD be on the donors list, and thought she should at least have the chance to live...

My lack of compassion for the Mother of 2 is that it's her fault. Her fault for not being some rich old ******* or celebrity, so she'd get rushed to the top of the donors list and there'd be an organ Miraculously available for her.

That was blistering sarcasm BTW for the Net Challenged.

Someone who HAD A SECOND CHANCE and was given a liver and then went right back to drugs again, ruined the new liver and then cant understand why they can't get another one!! That person is finished..... DONE...I feel ZERO remorse for her or her enabling family. I feel sad for her poor kids.

As far as Corey goes... I grew up seeing his movies...I know he had a huge problem... I wish he was still with us. BUT if he got a new organ then destroyed it because of drug use and THEN tried to get another one... Yeah... I would say tough luck idiot.... you had your second chance....

How about some of you try to compare apples to apples, then think of an argument that makes sense, THEN come and post.

No, this is the same forum that was perplexed at the logic of giving consideration to someone who had contributed to the failure of their donor organ and did not meet the criteria for a transplant at this time, thereby denying or possibly denying that organ and chance to another with the same requirements who may come after her or who's need may not be deemed as serious as hers at the time.

For the second time, totally different situation and not relevant to the subject of this thread.....at all.

Sure it is, we have one person who at the time of most of these posts was believed to have died of a drug related issue and people are like wow that's really sad what a great loss.

And we have another person who is going to die of a drug related issue who could be saved and people are like so what she deserves it let her die.

One couldn't be saved = sad
One could be saved but wont be = not sad

Yes, there were those that held that opinion about the girl just as a few have hastily said the same about this situation. Terrible opinions to hold in either case as it relates to the loss of another's life. That said, not wishing to see the girl placed back on the transplant list thereby possibly disadvantaging another and putting their life at risk does not equate with wishing harm to her or not seeing the sadness in her situation.

If he was still clean it was most likely the years of drugs, alcohol etc. that did him in. Probably was a heart attack like Brittany Murphy.

I am with street judge on this one. It is bad to speak ill of the dead, but honestly, should I care about a guy who did something 20 years ago and nothing since? He didn't care about himself, why should we?

Aren't you more shocked that he lived this long?

It's best to shut up and say nothing, keep stupid comments to yourselves, at least some respect for the ones who cared about him.

I hung out with feldman everyday for about a week 2 years ago. And I want to clear things up about HIM being a "trainwreck" He has been clean for YEARS now. Wont even drink a beer!

He said that Haim was CONSTANTLY talking about getting back into acting, but everytime he got an opportunity... some things were more important. :sleep He said that originally lost boys 2 was written differently than the crap they put out. And that both of them were the main part of the story. As opposed to the johnny come lately cast that they ended up with... but everytime they ended up on the set, Haim couldnt talk or see straight.

He told me that Haim sold his damn teeth on ebay for drug money. (who the hell would buy those?)

I feel most bad for Corey Feldman today... he did everything he could to help Haim. It even caused him problems with his marriage. He is a very nice humble and clean guy, and I feel the need to stick up for him when people say he is as bad as Haim was. (not judging Haim either!)

Really really sad. The guy was on some serious stuff... It REALLY bugs me that things like oxycontin are produced in such abundance... VERY FEW people in the world need them! Yet the pharmacudical companys make millions of the pills per year... wonder why? $ :sick $

Have an old buddy hooked on pain pills... God its sad. Cant even talk to him anymore, he doesnt want help and he lies and hides stuff but I know he has to be. I knew Brad Renfro before he moved out to hollywood and got all mixed up on that crap as well.

Heroin and oxycontin (same thing basically) are flat out killers. they have taken alot of good people from this world. Its VERY sad. :(

RIP Corey. :sleep

As someone who enjoyed his movies way back when. It's sad to think that he's gone. As someone mentioned before he was clearly a victim of an industry that builds you up, treats you like gold and then spits you out and forgets your name as soon as the grosses go down. My wife and I watched The Two Coreys solely for the train wreck factor, and it was clear almost the entire time that he was still using and the guy defintely seemed to have his moments of being a general dbag but it's still sad to see someone near my own age die so young.

Overall, I feel for anyone who can never (for one reason or another) learn to be thankful for what they have and find happiness instead of chasing long gone glory.

"This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family and best friend," "We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference.

"I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived," Feldman said.

While not completely agreeing with Streetjudge, I think its important to realize that he is Police and sees this type of thing everyday. There is sort of a desensitization that keeps people sane. It would truly be a big loss if his death did not serve as a wake up call to other addicts, assuming he did in fact OD.

Makes it worse, I Think I'd like a bit of compassion out of someone who's everyday job puts them possibly in a position of deciding someones fate.

Good luck with that hypothesis. My father was a Police officer for 25 years and he'll be the first one to tell you that you get desensitized and start to view non-cops as outsiders because quite frankly, they are. There are very few professions in the world that have to see what they see and do what they do every day. Soldiers, Firemen....all the same.
