I just finished my second viewing of the second season of Daredevil and holy crap i love the Punisher :)

Still all hyped up from the finale I thought hey, I've got a few days left before my courses begin again, how about a quick side project.

First I tried to find a few pictures for reference. Google was pretty much useless and i could only find one usable picture, so I went on Netflix, took a few screenshots and got to work.

First here's the jacket with and without the skull logo from the series:

I took a basic vest from my closet an traced the shape to a piece of PVC floor-covering i had left from an earlier project, which was perfect for the Kevlar-fiber parts.
The sheets i used are about 5mm thick, waterproof and bendy so I can still move while wearing the jacket.

sorry for the poor close-up shots, my camera sucks sometimes :D

For the fabric parts i used some rough black cotton.

I constructed all the necessary parts by calculating the rough sizes from the size in the picture and the size of my real life vest.
I cut them out and traced them onto the fabric, added about 2 cm of outline and duct-taped the fabric to the PVC parts.

I forgot to take any more pictures while doing that :)

I sewed them together and an removed the duct-tape.

This is the current state hopefully I'll be done i a few days.

I hope you like my work, I'll keep the updates coming :)

Re: Punisher Flak-Jacket (from Daredevil Season 2)

If anybody is interested in also building one, i'll upload the measurements later tonight.
I'm also working on a printable sewing pattern, which should be finished in a few days.

Here's the first batch of patterns :)

I made minor adjustments to the midsection and the breast plates since fitting them together without leaving any holes was a little tricky at first.
The inner breast-plate and the main body are still in work.

I'll upload a PDF soon, so you can print the whole thing at once :)

Thanks! I downloaded this one and the skull shape you did in another post as soon as i saw them, wasn' t sure if it's ok to repost them here, so thank you for sharing them here :)

I decided to use clamp buckles on the shoulders because i dont like the look of the ones used in the picture.

Does anyone know what those little things on the "eyes" of the jacket are? I was gonna leave them off, but im open to encluding them after all, since they add a nice bit of detail on the upper body.

I'm torn on the shell holders aka "teeth" and the leather(?) patches on the corners because they may obstruct movement to much. I'll probably just make them separatly for now and decide when the Jacket is ready to be worn.

I've just entered the final stages, hopefully the jacket will be done within one or two days, depending on how long the paint-job will take me :)

Here's a few pictures of my progress so far:

How did you get on in the end? I'm gonna start a build soon - I've never worked with fabric or eva foam before, but I've done some homework. Did you have to use a sewing machine?
