WIP Evil Dead Ash Williams olds replica

Hey all,

Just wanted to share with you guys a project of mine that I have recently started. I have always wanted a movie replica car of my own and thought about tackling Sam Raimi's "classic".

I have since found myself a 73 olds and have begun transforming it into Ash's getaway car.

The car has a massive 455 rocket engine and drives like a champ. The car really "floats" along the highway and it is extremely hard to parallal park downtown. I've done a bunch of minor repairs and replacements, but more recently I have got a new top put on it.

And the windshield...it has to be busted out to be accurate.

bump for some new updates:

I got all trim off the car and prepped it for painting.

Cleaned out the car and wiped everything down. Car was really dusty.

Car is currently 90% stripped down. A few spots around the windows and doors need to be hit before primer goes down. As well as a few spots for bondo. Nothing major, overall the car is really solid.

Tan top coat and clear coat should be done by this weekend if the weather holds up.

Been working on several display pieces to put with the car, namely the tape recorder and Book of the Dead.

I've got an Ash costume in the works as well. It's being worked on/updated.

Once the paint job is finished, I only need a few more parts to complete the car. Just some weatherstrip kits and 4 royale hubcaps. And she's done.

It still needs a few more coats of paint but it's getting there. Been having alotta rain around my neck of the woods. If the weather stays sunny this weekend, I could actually make some progress.
