I've always wanted to make this suit, mainly because I love the terminated shoulder design.

I started this past weekend, only working on the top half for now. First step was to wrap myself in tape, cut it off, & stuff it with paper and bubble wrap. I then drew the design onto it, planning out my seams, and then cut it apart. I only did half because it'll be mirrored.

I then transferred everything to poster-board, cleaned up some of the lines, and tested the pattern out on some spare silver spandex that I had lying around.

I used this to alter the pattern a little bit. I made the glove part a little shorter, and brought the point of the shoulder cap up higher.

Now I've got everything cut out of red and blue spandex and I'll be sewing that together soon.

Are you thinking of making webshooters with it or are you going to leave them?

Very nearly finished sewing the shirt last night. I'm still treating this as a test because I'm still finding some things I want to change in the pattern.

Thanks buddy! I'm planning on making a pattern, based off of this, that people will be able to use for their dye-subs. That's about as far as I'm gonna go into making suits for other people.
I'm actually not sure about the red. I have so many different kinds lying around the house, I just picked up the ones that looked like the right colors. I'm pretty sure the blue is a tricot, though.
I will :) Gonna put down webbing tonight.

What exactly about the sewing process are you wanting to see? It's a pretty easy pattern to sew.

Mmkay, I'll do a short video on the next version showing the whole method. I basted with needle and thread and used a serger for the whole thing

With the duct tape. Would it be possible to get someone to draw the pattern on it while it's being worn and hasn't been cut or is it highly recommended to remove it, stuff it and make the seams from the model?

Yup! That's totally fine. The person duct taping me just wasn't very good at drawing the lines. It also helps to have an idea before drawing of how you want to assemble the pieces.

    Update:

Did a little more puff-painting on the shoulders and filled the spider with silicone. Messed up a little on the legs, but it's just a test top, so no big deal.

Thanks! Gonna start work on the full suit soon. However, I might hit a big delay as I try to find a way to move to LA.
