Hello everyone. I really love the FF series and so I'm making my favorite weapon from the game, the Buster Sword.
I like the detail of the Crisis Core version so I chose that one.
I used wood for frame
Then for the handle, I made 2 holes where the hand guard part of the frame will insert, hopefully making it sturdy.
Just used PVA glue and nails to assemble the frame
I also used PVA to glue the rubber sheet to the wood
Can't resist to try it
I used additional rubber layers, making a "ladder" so that when I put another foam, it will be slanted, just like the blade part
Decided to put some rubber for support
Cyt out holes
Done with the base

I then traced the sword detail, I'll use 3mm rubber sheet for the detail

More handle guard details
For the wing detail, I was choosing between using PVA glue or just rubber foam, I wanted to get a rounded feel so I chose PVA.
HOWEVER, it was an epic failure so I just decided to use rubber sheet again. oh, and I added more details to the handle.

When you need to glue small pieces with small gaps or distance to each other, say horizontal lines, you can do the following steps.
1. Draw your pattern and put tape at the back.
2. Carefully score the lines using a blade, i use xacto knife.
3-5. Carefully "peel" the unwanted parts
6. Put glue where you need to stick it on, and put the entire piece in place.
7. Remove the tape and then do a thumbs up.

Ready for sealing
I used 3 coats of Acrylic Emulsion for the sealing part
Then, I primed it using Acrylic Paint - Primer Grey

After 3 layers of primer, I then started masking for the main color.

And then it rained. Will update tomorrow.
