    I made this for a customer. It is about 4 inches tall. He wanted it to be a tree ornament.
    I had to change a couple things to be shapeways compatible, but over all it looks pretty cool. Customer is happy.

    Ya, that is definitely doable now that I have the CAD work done. I could toss it on the full sized CNC router and cut all the parts from 3/4 ply

    Sorry for the necropost, but did you use only the movie for reference or were you able to find any images of the actual prop?
    I'm not trying to make one of these FYI, just desperately looking for quality reference material.

    I just used screen caps. I didn't go nuts on interior detail because it would never print anyway. This was made for a client who wanted a tree ornament.

    Thanks for that. I did find the Harper Goff sketch, which should help.
