Will fiberglass stick to acrylic?

I am beginning to build a high quality deadmau5 head. I ordered this 14 inch acrylic sphere and It is pretty thin and I am afraid it might crack. I was wondering how I could strengthen it, and I came up with fiberglassing it. Does anyone know if fiberglass will stick to acrylic? I was thinking about roughing it up pretty good or maybe even drilling small holes to help it to adhere. Or maybe there is some other way to strengthen my acrylic sphere? If anyone has any ideas it would be awesome. Thanks.

Scuff it up with some aggresive sandpaper in the 200's and lay the fiberglass. The scuffing will let it stick and the spere shpe itself will lock into the acrylic. You'll be fine.

I'm making a Deadmau5 head as well, how would I go about using the fiberglass? (I've no experience with it) Would bondo work? I don't think so. What's my best option?
