Wicked Witch of the West Crystal Ball FOUND!!!

'should fetch a wicked price too! '

True. ANYTHING from the WOO is always way high on price.

"Look! Judy blew her nose during filming!" Used tissue priced at $50,000.

Insane find, 85 years later...

But it doesn´t have a c-scar, and what makes me really wonder is how they achieved the effect of a filled sphere? In the set photos it looks like it´s a full glass ball, did they fill it with water or something?

Now THIS was one of the biddings I enjoyed watching. The Mrs. was nearby, and when I told her it would fetch over 100,000 she said 'LOL'.

At least I guessed this one correctly.

That seems kind of cheap when compared to what screen used ANH trooper helmets have sold for...

There was only one, used in one of the most famous movies of all time, it's 90 years old, it's thin glass, AND was used in other movies...

Seems like it would be borderline priceless?

I couldn't agree more I thought this might have went for a lot more. I had thought that it may have made up to $500,000. Not that $110,000 is anything to be sniffed at.

I suppose it is who has the money and the interest on the day.

Any idea who won it? Hopefully it will be a museum so others can see it in the flesh.

Chris

Yeah I thought it would go for a way lot more.

Hopefully Paul Allen snagged it

Blown glass would be next to impossible to replicate or reproduce perfectly, to my understanding of the craft. You simply can't reproduce those little flaws that occur, every piece of blown glass is a one of a kind original.

This is quite the amazing find, and I'm glad to stumble into this subforum today to see it. :)
