why do i need an HTML < br > to seperate lines of text?
If i dont use one for each line break, it just mangles my posts into one constant stream of continuous text.
Isnt there a way to fix this?

IE 6.0
Cant go higher, unfortunately, Im still stuck on Windows ME, due to hardware issues. (IE my comp is old)

This is the only board i have this issue on tho.

If I'm not mistaken, this goes back to old school programming. the "BR" stands for "break" and is/ was supposed to emulate the hard "carriage return" on an old school typewriter or keypunch machine.

Puzzling, I don't have this problem.

The gap above was made by simply hitting "enter".

Do let us know how you come along on this...

I'm using IE 6 right now typing in the fast reply box and all I do is hit <enter>
to go to the next line or <enter> twice

to skip a line.

Hmm. I am on a Mac running Safari and I don't have to hit enter or return at all to go to the next line. it just wraps around when it gets to the end of the line. I can hit enter to skip a line though.
I also notice that at the very bottom of the posting window there is a box that says what rules are active for this forum. In mine, it says HTML is Off. Not sure what that means or if its relevant.

I dunno what it is. Like i said, this is the only board where this happens to me.
Kinda a pain.
Ill try the other skins.. im on the STar Wars one right now.

Ok, testing on another skin.

wee...

{edit} works just fine on the Jedi skin.

(more testing)

OK, I think it was something in the posting settings, which i changed when I was looking at the skins. I had to set it to a less advanced posting setting.

Its working on the SW skin now too.
