Question Why can I not update my avatar or profile pic?

This has been bugging me for some time. I thought it might have been temporary, but I keep getting the same error. Am I doing something wrong? Keeps saying failure to write temporary file.

I just did a test, and was able to update the avatar on your profile.

Are you loading the avatar from your local hard drive or are you using a URL?

Well... *sits and stares for a second* I had been trying to link to images on Photobucket. Local uploads are working fine. I hadn't tried that, as online-hosted images seemed more reliable. Problem solved, I guess. Although I feel a bit embarrassed. Any idea why the linking didn't work?

If you post the URL that you were trying to use, I can take a look at it and attempt to determine the problem.

The issue is related to our software getting the image from a photobucket link.

I set up an account and attempted to use an image that I uploaded to photobucket and received the same error that you did. So for now, it looks like there is an issue with photobucket and the forum.

ETA: Yep, it worked for embedded images. Odd...
