Unfortunately, licensing precludes fabric runs from being done which is also why the other project of mine died as well. Sorry !
But the underlying premise of wearing your fandom is something I have always wanted to do from a personal standpoint. I don't like walking outside with my "I love Star Trek" jacket but would prefer to wear something more subtle and those "in the know are in the know." With our other upcoming license, this type of product has been a lot easier than Trek in regard to finding that one thing.
The one thing you probably could wear out are the pants since they are functional and really kinda cool looking ! I welcome any ideas to add to our think tank!
Joe,
Allow me to add my congratulations as well! I've followed your projects in the past with excitment but never more than now! You guys just have to be over the moon and I can't express how happy I am for you to have had this happen. Congrats
As for the idea of wearing ones fandom...this is something I've been musing about for some time now, and I'd love to share some of those ideas with you sometime. With ecclectic fashion taking off, fashion designers who are also genre fans like Marc Echo, and the success of vendors like ThinkGeek, I think the idea of infusing fandom into everyday fashion is something who's time has come. It would be something fun and cool all at the same time.
Take care and again congratulations!
John
Thanks Jodo!!! Great catching up with you today.
Hansicle.. This is too good:
"That's why you make Trek Lounge wear... You're around your house, you dress like Kirk... no problem, just don't go mowen your lawn as a red shirt, libel to get the blade stuck in your chest, or a foot cut off or something"
Y'know... there have been lots of rumblings of the "dark times" of propdom being upon us and that the heyday of the hobby having come and gone.
Now we're seeing a surge of small, fan-run start-up companies that want to produce the stuff we've been screaming about for years and years- even a lot of obscure, non-mass-market stuff like Firefly props. It really feels like we're at the begging of a new chapter for our hobby.
Best of luck to Anovos! :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup
