Who builds sabers anymore?

Third from the right, the AOTC Anakin look-alike. I really like the gray grips. Are they painted, molded or what? I could use some of those for a little lightside Vader project. :love

I always like to see alternate forms of the SW canon sabers.

I still dig the hell out of the guts you came up with for your Vader, Derek. :)

Thanks Chris. the sad thing is though, that was my last power cell I made, and I traded it for a Parks MPP. But, looking back, it was worth it. :thumbsup

I just got my Serafino booster and dry fitted all the parts together. I call it the silver bullet.

Parts are Stainless Steel Pommel, Serafino Booster, Real Clamp, Chen Grenade and real Balance Pipe.

It's hard to get a good photo of what it looks like and this one doesn't do it justice.

Who builds sabers anymore
with metal shavings on the floor?

We do. We do.

Who makes others feel the shame
when we play the milling game?

We do. We do.

Who keeps the camera sellers glad
and Graflex flashes in demand?

We do. We do.

Who buys Dremels on the fly
working them until they die?

We do. We do.

Ok, I can't think of any more... it's too early in the morning. :p

I do. I do.

Bought a bunch of real Graflex for the various Luke sabers; got a real MPP but decided not to vandalise it; have a Yoda VD saber made from a real Praco; got a bunch of V2s machined from solid aluminum for a group buy; still looking for parts to finish my Vader ROTJ after 3 years; and the latest is slowly (and painfully) gathering all the real parts for my Obi ANH.

BTW anyone has a real booster for a reasonable price? :D

I also make custom sabers. Here's one of my early attempts ;)

Although I have four MR FX sabers, I have built two non-functional hilts; both are a combination of hardware and replica parts. My favorite design is the Obi-wan from Episode IV, so they're both similar to that. I want to build a couple of others (at least) that are a bit different, but I'm on a limited budget so I'm slowly collecting the parts I'll need.

Custom design made out of objects found around the house.

Handle is an old flashlight, Dremel body parts, computer chip for activation control, Allen wrench details and the emitter is part of a toy.

That saber looks pretty cool and when you aren't slicing and dicing it also doubles as a blow torch. :)

Really cool design.

My latest two

First up is a Qu-Rahn sabre from JK2.

Second is one I built for a friend doing an Artris costume from Kotor2. Using a combination of the game artwork we came up with this design

Nice and simple, which worked out to this

I try to build all my own stuff, although I am guilty of buying an MR Luke ESB... And Qui-Gon. And FX. Whatever.

Right now I'm working on some Jedi Academy video game models, along with some ones based off the Purge comic. Lookin' gooooooood.

i have built up from real graflexs and heilands a few luke sabers, with a couple having a EL and sound, and a couple with luxeons leds and sound. and a vader, with luxeon and sound, and a converted ESB vader FX into a luxeon, a mace windu into a luxeon, a few scratch made from heiland handle designs with luxeon and EL with sound.

I built most of OT sabers. PT sabers were bought already machined and assembled but I did upgrade and accurize some of them.

I also have every MR LE apart from 3... but those don't count LOL.

I'll bump this up.
Would like to see more here.

Fantastic sabers folks..

I hope it's ok to say that I'm in the market to find someone to build me a Darth Nihilus saber, so if anyone wants a commission, pm me please. :)
