Building a Blade Runner gun and trying to match weathering of the actual WorldCon Prop which has a white residue inside crevasses of the diamond pattern on grips.
Some have guessed it could be plaster from when Batty pulls gun through wall, others believe it to be dried polishing compound from when prop makers polished grips (but couldn't remove polish from inside diamond pattern grooves).
Anybody have any ideas of what off-the-shelf product is out there that would leave a white residue similar to that of a white wax/polish -- or if anyone knows of a suitable white wax/polish that would not harm resin?
Any suggestions welcome.
