Where to find a cigar box?

Greetings.

I'm wracking my brain, trying to figure out where to find a specific cigar box.

Specifically, Kaylee's Strawberry Box from Firefly. The brand is Bahia Trinidad, the size is the one that held 20 Elegantes.

So far I've searched on ebay, google, and froogle. I've tried writing to people who have the brand on their website, but apparently the person who produced the cigars failed to take care of quality control. The websites are not up to date, and the cigar boxes are nowhere to be seen.

So any ideas? Are there hidden websites for cigar box collectors? Should I just aim to be patient, and hope that it someday comes up on ebay? :p

Any assistance would be appreciated.

What is the box? I get mine from cigar stores that sell the individual cigars & then either give away or sell the boxes cheap..

The brand is Bahia Trinidad. Specific box is the one that held 20 elegantes. The cover would have "Bahia" in big stylized letters, "Trinidad" just below it, and "Tony Borhani" below that.

It is a natural wood box, unlike the laquered ones that are more common nowadays.

I've called around to the local cigar stores, but they don't seem to stock this brand.

Thanks for the response.

I need to get this Graflex Flash because my grampa was a photographer in the 1940's and I'm restoring a vintage camera for him and the last part is the flash.

Good luck on the search .

Indeed.

I didn't intentionally attempt to disguise my interest or reason for being interested in the cigar box. Rather, I was trying to get general advice about possible solutions, as I don't know that much about cigar box collecting and was hoping that someone else did. Good luck finding that flash for your camera.

Thanks for the link, Entropy. I'd seen that thread a long time ago, but I had forgotten it. There is a link to similar boxes in that thread, but they are not quite what I am looking for.

Thanks for posting.

I think the only thing people who are looking for the box can do is get lucky on ebay. The stores online are showing stock photos of the cigars and somethings the boxes change during production, so they won't know whats what.

Ever since it was possible to find one from another RPF member here, I have 7 searches saved just for the cigar box, so I'm hard pressed to find it now. I check the searches daily, hoping I can get lucky.

Wow, the last post is years old in the thread..
I am working on making a screen accurate "Kaylee strawberry box" available as a mockup prop for collectors.
My questions are;
1. With or without strawberries (would everyone prefer finding their own to fill it?)
And,
2. loose fit lid, or hinged?
Yes, it seems the lid slips around in the show, but the box the studio used originally was hinged.
Any input here, or has this horse been beaten to death?
I have been looking for months for one to add to my collection, and decided to take matters into
my own hands then thought why not make them in quantity... :D
Thanks for your comments.
