where can i find best fur for Chewbacca?

Can anyone help me? Where can I get the correct fur and a Mayhew size overal from for my lifesize Chewie stand UP. I have begun two lifesize Chewie stand ups 4 years ago and like to complete them now. I made moveable silicon masks that work like the real ones. My mother would nit me a pink overal if necessary on where i can put the Hair on, but i don´t know if that was like they used in the movies. Is it true that the real Chewbacca got fur from a Yak?

Yes, the original was yak hair, in ANH and ESB.

For ROTJ they used synthetic hair.

This is the best, and possibly only, place to get it. They did the Wookiee hair for SITH. They are in the US.

The best place for any long-haired character fur would be National Fiber Tech (www.nftech.com)

They've got various synthetics and natural hair (like yak) and can dye it to the proper colors, mix multiple colors for a natural look, and weave it to a backing, then cut it to the proper length.

Check out their site or drop them a line and I'm sure they'll be glad to talk you through it. They always provide excellent customer service.

Since they did the hair for Lucas' newest wookiees for SITH, and have been the source for numerous other wookiee displays and costumes, they will know what you're talking about if you just tell them you're looking for wookiee hair.

They will even know the right colors of brown and grey specifically for Chewbacca.

7. In May of 2005 I contacted National Fiber Technology again and got some information from Fred Fehrmann. Fred told me that the date, or even the year, that Lucasfilm ordered their hair was confidential. The type and color of hair that they ordered is also confidential.
