When was the last time you watched STAR WARS?

It's been quite a few months back but was flipping through the channels and either SW or Empire was on. Art always gives me a hard time and asks me why I am watching it on tv cause we have it on dvd and can watch it anytime. My answer is "cause it's on tv".

Same here! I just can't resist watching them when they air, even though we have all the movies on dvd. :D

It's just not the same for some reason. :lol

I usually watch at least some portion whenever they are on broadcast or cable.

But I put in the DVDs at least a couple of times each every year. Especially Star Wars, which is probably once a month.

I watched ESB right before Celebration V as I was building a droid to look like Muddy R2 on Dagobah. I got totally sucked in and watched the whole film.
I have also watched Star Wars a few times in the past three years with my son, who is now 5 and really enjoying it.
I also showed him the pod racer scene when it was on television and he really loved that as well and went to make some "pod racers" out of lego right after.

Since he is watching Clone Wars on Cartoon Network, Anakin is a hero and "The Good Guy," so I haven't shown him ESB or anything else yet. I'm not sure when it's a good time to show him that Vader is Anakin...
Right now Vader is that "Really Bad Guy."

Aside from zipping through it to get screengrabs, I honestly can't remember the last time I actually sat down and watched any one of the 6 from start to finish... Surely I have watched at least ONE of them since Ep III was in the theaters... haven't I?

ANH has been played through at least 8 times in the last month. I throw it on while painting/weathering.

It's been over a decade since i sat through an entire movie. I'm sick of everything related to the franchise and how it hsa been driven to the ground.
Thought I was the only one. It's been years since I last watched, and will be another many years before I watch again, I'm so burnt out on SW I even stopped using the theme on this forum.

I do the same thing and it drives my wife crazy.

I'll be honest, I have watched all of the OT at least once a week since I got my VHS box set in 1994. Now I watch at least 2-3 of any of the 6 plus many hours of Clone Wars (movie and season 1/2) every week.

Star Wars never gets old, I always love it, I never get tired or bored. I love all the movies. If I'm home alone and I have chores to do around the house I'll put one of the movies, crank the surround sound to 11 and work around the house.

My kids were born in 1994, 1999, and 2009 so we've grown up a Star Wars watching, SW toy playing family. When one kid outgrows the toys they get passed down to the next kid. We have 100's of SW figures and toys.

I'll probably watch at least 3 of the 6 movies this weekend.

UPDATE: Yep...watchin ROTJ on commentary now. It just occurred to me I haven't been thru the special features on AOTC or ROTS (I don't own Ep. 1 because....well..ew) in a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile so I'm thinkin that's all gonna be my background noise for work tonight. Squee! :D

I built my own R2-D2, but I think I'd sooner watch Conair or Die Hard on cable than sit through any of the 6 SW movies.

I know I had ESB on while I was working on R2 back in... maybe 2008, but I wasn't really watching it.

I did sit through ROTS when I got it on DVD just becasue my wife hadn't seen it.

I guess it was in the fall. Watched in order:
Episode 1
Episode 2
The Clone Wars
Episode 3
Episode 4
Holiday Special
Episode 5
Caravan of Courage
Battle for Endor

One of these days I got to cap it off with Episode 6.

a better question would be "when was the last time you watched something besides Star Wars?"

J?K
I watch ESB mostly, but I watched Star Wars itself a couple weeks back.
when the Blu-rays come out in Sep, I'm sure the frequency will go back up

Last month, SPIKE TV ran marathons of the OT and the PT back to back. I watched both runthroughs of the OT and one of the PT. :D

I saw snippets of that. I agree that there's something different about watching it on TV. I often will, even though I've always owned VHS or DVD copies. I think the commercials/anticipation lend it that old 80's tv special vibe.

It seems like I watched ROTS within the last year with my kids...I don't think I've seen the OT since the DVD came out with the "bonus" non SE discs. I watched all three in their original, non-ruined state. It was glorious. But when did those discs come out? Must have been several years ago.
